Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify a reunion party as the celebration and include relevant details such as food, decorations and activities. You also make a request for help with preparing a guest list, so the main purpose is recognisable. However, the task is only partly addressed: the reason for choosing this kind of event is not clearly explained, and the description shifts between a planned event (“was organised next week”) and one that has already happened (“we were also enjoyed”). The request for help is also quite narrow and does not explain how your friend could assist with other arrangements. Make the event clearly prospective, explain why a reunion party suits the anniversary, and specify practical help you need.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter has a recognisable opening, a body with event details, a request, and a closing. The details about food, the hall and activities give the reader some sense of the celebration. However, the body does not progress clearly from the event idea to its benefits and then to the request. Connectors such as “moreover,” “although,” “not only this” and “additionally” are used mechanically or do not express the intended relationship; for example, “although” introduces no contrast. The shift between future plans and past events also makes the sequence difficult to follow. Use separate paragraphs for the proposal, reasons and request, and link each idea with clear, accurate transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to a reunion, including “celebrate,” “decorated,” “activities” and “anniversary,” and the reader can generally identify the intended event. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the letter difficult to understand, such as “togather,” “trandition food,” “peacful” and “ballon holds.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “friends which has been studied for a 10 years” and “friends related to party arrangements.” Choose precise expressions for the people and purpose of the event, and check spelling carefully. Learning common collocations such as “organise a reunion,” “catch up with classmates” and “prepare a guest list” would make the message clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a reason introduced by “After” and a request framed as a question. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences hard to follow. Examples include “everyone have no time,” “i decided to organise … which has been studied,” and “we were also enjoyed,” where agreement, tense or verb forms are not controlled. The sentence “please could you help me to made list” also has problems with the verb pattern and missing grammatical elements. Keep the event consistently in the future, use “everyone has,” and practise forming requests with “Could you help me make a list?” Check sentence boundaries and capitalisation as you edit.
