Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You identify a suitable celebration—a party with college friends and seniors—and suggest a hall, a DJ and food. However, the task is only partly addressed: you do not clearly explain why this event would be a good way to celebrate, and you do not describe what help you need from your friend. The sentence “I hope this letter gives you the thoughts” does not make a specific request. The response is also 53 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to develop the three points. To improve, explain the value of meeting again after ten years, then ask your friend to take on concrete tasks such as contacting classmates or booking the venue.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The ideas are broadly relevant and appear in a generally understandable order: you introduce the anniversary, suggest a party, and mention possible arrangements. Basic links such as “In which” and “as well as” help connect details, but the progression is limited and some connections are unclear. For example, “This is the best why to organize the party” repeats the suggestion rather than developing the reason for it. The letter is presented as one block, so the different points are not clearly separated. Use short paragraphs for the event, why it would be enjoyable, and the help you need; connect them with clear phrases such as “I think this would be special because…” and “Could you help by…?”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the general idea, including “party,” “small hall,” “DJ,” and “food.” The topic is clear, but the range is limited and several choices or forms are inaccurate, which makes parts of the letter awkward: “the thoughts” is unclear, and “the best why” appears to mean “the best way.” “Organised” is also used in an incorrect form in this sentence. Aim for more precise event-related expressions and natural collocations, such as “reunion celebration,” “book a venue,” and “get in touch with our classmates.” These choices would help you explain the plan and your request more clearly without changing the friendly tone.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response relies mainly on short, simple statements, with an attempt to add detail through “where” and “as well as.” However, errors in sentence structure, verb forms, articles and punctuation are frequent enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “It is long time to see you” and “It almost 10 years now we meet” are not grammatically complete or correctly formed. In “i am so happy that you doing good,” the verb phrase is incomplete. Capitalise “I,” use full stops to separate complete ideas, and practise accurate past and present-perfect forms, such as “It has been almost ten years since we last met.” Building a few correct complex sentences will improve clarity.
