Student answer (Band 5.0)

in these days everyone is busy with there work and study or some other jobs.in this fast forward time we need some special activity in life. which should be good for health and social life. everyone have own life style some peolples life sports in their free time and some like to watch tv , some like to roam outside with family members and friend, some like to speand time in nature.

but we should have one hobby in everyones life. in these day if we will talk about kids. they are going to school after schooling if they dont have any kind of physical activity they will used to sit in home alone and depends on tv all the time. thats not good for them. they will be getting unhealty and may be getting obesty. beacuse of that they should need a at least one hobby which will be keep them busy in there free time. make then busy and fresh mind.

for young peoples they are tired from work load when they get a free time. they are just sitting in home and watching tv and some ather chores. which will be some time good but not for all the time thats why they should need also atleast one activity in theire own life cycle. they should have to engage in social life .

according to me in this era have lots of options to choose and accept in our daily life better to engage in social life or some social event that make the the life easily and keeping the mind fresh and uptodate

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

Your position is clear in the opening claim, “we should have one hobby,” and you give relevant reasons, especially that hobbies can support children’s physical health and help young people engage socially. However, the response addresses the topic only partially: the task names children, young adults, working people and retired people, but you develop points mainly about children and young people. Working adults and retirees are not discussed, and the examples remain general rather than specific. The final paragraph also repeats the idea of social engagement without adding a developed reason or example. To strengthen the response, state your opinion clearly and consistently, then explain how a hobby benefits each age group, using a concrete example to support the main points.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation: the response moves from a general introduction to separate paragraphs about children and young people, followed by a concluding opinion. This gives the reader a basic sense of direction. However, progression is limited because the final paragraph largely repeats the earlier point about social life, and the discussion does not move through all the groups in the question. Linking is often repetitive or awkward, as in “thats why” and “because of that,” while several ideas are joined in long, loosely connected sentences. Paragraphing helps distinguish topics, but clearer topic sentences and more purposeful links would make the argument easier to follow. Organise the body around distinct benefits and age groups, and ensure each paragraph develops one main idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a basic range of topic-related vocabulary, including “physical activity,” “free time,” “social life” and “work load,” so the main subject is generally understandable. There are also attempts to express consequences, such as becoming unhealthy or relying on television. However, vocabulary is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled choices make parts difficult to interpret: “some peolples life sports” and “speand time in nature” obscure the intended meaning, while “fast forward time” and “keeping the mind fresh and uptodate” are not natural expressions in this context. Repetition of “hobby,” “life” and “social” also restricts precision. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for leisure, wellbeing and social connection, and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts some longer sentences to explain causes and results, for example, “if they dont have any kind of physical activity they will used to sit in home alone.” However, these attempts are often faulty, and the range of sentence structures remains limited. Errors in verb forms, agreement and articles occur frequently: “everyone have,” “they will used to sit,” and “a at least one hobby.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also often unclear, with several sentences beginning in lowercase or joined by commas, which can make the relationships between ideas harder to follow. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add controlled clauses using “because,” “if” and “which.” Proofread for subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles and full stops.
