Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this busy world, Everyone is busy in there daily chores. They need to give a proper time for there overall growth. It is important for children, young adults, working people and the retired to have at least one hobby. I will discuss my opinion with reasons and including relevant examples in upcoming paragraphs.
Firstly, It is important for everyone to have at least one hobby because if they have at least one favourite thing with they feel satisfied and enjoy working on it, this working as stress buster, overall growth booster, and self improvement for them. If childrens have a hobby like painting they spend there time on it instead of using phones. Moreover, it helps them to improve there coginitive skills. Furthermore, When they spent time on there hobbies, they are not getting bore from there studies also.
In addition to this, if i talk about working people it acts as a stress buster for them because there mind is getting tired and frustrated from there work environment, so its very helpful for them. Older people its helps to improve there health problems because when they physical activities like gardening and all it helps to stay active physically. According to the survey in 2019 by doctors, they claim that 77Percent of old aged people are stay active and improve there health issues only because they have some physical hobbies like gardening.
At the End, its important to have atleast one hobby for every person for there overall growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you believe everyone should have a hobby, and you give relevant reasons for children, working people and older adults. Examples such as painting and gardening help connect your ideas to the topic. However, the discussion is brief and several points are asserted rather than explained; for instance, the claim that hobbies prevent children from becoming bored with their studies needs clarification. The retired are mentioned only indirectly as “older people,” and the survey statistic is not explained or supported. The response also contains 232 words, so it is 18 words below the required minimum; 18 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each group’s benefits more fully and add a specific example to strengthen your support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “In addition to this” and “At the End” make the progression easy to follow, and the ideas generally move from children to adults. However, the linking is somewhat mechanical, and the second body paragraph combines working people and older adults without a clear transition between them. Some references are also unclear, as in “this working as stress buster” and “it helps to improve there health problems,” where the reader must infer what “this” or “it” refers to. Organise each group’s point more distinctly and use clearer reference words and transitions to make the connections smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “stress buster,” “cognitive skills,” “physical activities” and “gardening,” which helps communicate the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “give a proper time,” “favourite thing with they feel satisfied,” and “overall growth booster.” Repetition of “important,” “hobby” and “helps” also limits flexibility. There are noticeable spelling and word-form errors, including “coginitive,” “childrens” and “bore,” which reduce precision. Aim for more natural collocations and vary the language used to describe benefits, such as relaxation, skill development and physical wellbeing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons, using structures such as “because” and “when.” This gives the response some variety, but complex sentences are often faulty and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “if they have at least one favourite thing with they feel satisfied” has an incomplete grammatical connection, while “Older people its helps” has incorrect subject–verb structure. Verb forms and agreement are also problematic in “they are not getting bore” and “77Percent of old aged people are stay active.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including unnecessary capitals after commas and the run-on construction in the working-people sentence. Practise accurate clause structure and check agreement and verb forms before submitting.
