Student answer (Band 5.0)
I think it is very important for young adults, Working people and Retired people that they should adopt a good hobby in there lifestyle, more importantly for the retired people becouse if they dont have any hobby they will be bored and they do not have any interest in life and they will be in depression easily, In my opinion i must recommend them that they should do morning yoga becouse in the morning the vibes are very positive and weather is fresh i see many people when i go for morning walk in the park the old people are doing yoga with the instructor and they look very happy and fresh.
In my point of view if the retired people go in one place like park or club they can meet other people and meet each other and this is very good for them becouse same age group meet up they will talk and share there feelings and thoughts they would understand each other becouse they all have same age group.
For the young people and workimg people i suggest they must join the gym. In he gym they have good environment of exercise and boast there energy level

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You give a clear opinion that hobbies are important, and you offer relevant suggestions: yoga and social activities for retired people, and gym membership for young adults and workers. The examples of seeing older people exercising in the park help connect your ideas to experience. However, the response addresses the task only partially: children are not discussed, and the benefits for young adults and working people are asserted rather than explained. The ideas about retirement are also repeated without being fully developed. The response is 200 words, so it does not meet the 250-word minimum. To strengthen the answer, cover every group named in the prompt and explain how each hobby benefits them, using specific examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some organisation: you first discuss retired people, then explain the social benefits of meeting others, and finally turn to young adults and working people. This gives the reader a basic sense of direction. However, the response is presented as one long paragraph, and several ideas run together in lengthy sentences, making the progression difficult to follow. Connectors such as “In my opinion” and “In my point of view” are repetitive, while “and” and “because” are used repeatedly to join ideas. Use separate paragraphs for your position, each age group, and a conclusion. Clearer sentence boundaries and a wider range of linking expressions would make the relationships between ideas easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main topic, with relevant words and phrases such as “hobby,” “morning yoga,” “instructor,” “gym,” and “energy level.” You also attempt to describe emotional and social benefits, including “bored” and “share their feelings and thoughts.” However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which can make parts less clear. For example, “the vibes are very positive” is informal and imprecise in this essay, and “boast there energy level” does not express the intended meaning naturally. Spelling errors such as “becouse” and “workimg” are also noticeable. Aim for precise, appropriately formal expressions and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to express connected ideas using clauses with “if” and “because,” as in “if they don’t have any hobby they will be bored.” This shows some ability to form more than simple sentences. However, the range is limited, and attempts to combine many ideas often produce faulty or difficult-to-follow sentences. The opening sentence, for instance, runs through several points without clear sentence boundaries, and punctuation is frequently missing or inconsistent. There are also errors in articles, agreement, and sentence construction, as in “they should adopt a good hobby” followed by “that they should,” and “same age group meet up.” Use shorter, complete sentences, check subject–verb agreement and articles, and add punctuation to separate each idea.
