It has always been a matter of debate that it is essential for everyone to have a hobby. It does not matter, if they are childern, young people, working individuals or even retirees, they should have a hobby to pursue. In my viewpoint, this is a positive approach for the society. In the upcoming essay, I will discuss this prespective briefly.

To commence with, having a hobby could develop kids and young adults in a multiple ways. By performing recreational activities such as reading and writing, kids can enhance their learning skills which would help them in their foundational learning. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 212 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the conclusion is missing and the arguments regarding working people and retirees are underdeveloped. While you address all groups mentioned in the prompt, the lack of depth and the incomplete nature of the essay prevent a higher score. To improve, ensure you fully explore each point with specific examples and include a clear summary or concluding paragraph to round off your argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a basic logical progression. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Similarly', and 'Furthermore' to link ideas. However, the flow is interrupted by the abrupt ending of the text. The use of referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure feels incomplete due to the missing conclusion. To improve, focus on ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that the essay concludes with a summary that reinforces your main position.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'recreational activities', 'foundational learning', and 'professionals'. There are some minor errors, such as 'passionated' instead of 'passionate' and 'childern' (spelling). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, it lacks the variety and precision required for higher bands. Try to incorporate more topic-specific collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing to enhance the sophistication of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'It has always been a matter of debate that it is essential' (awkward phrasing), 'individual having leisure interests' (missing article), and 'give themselve' (spelling). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but there are some issues with sentence boundaries and word forms. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect pluralization.
