Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is really very crucial for the youngsters, teenagers and the people who work and who do not work to have at least one hobby in their life. In my opinion it is important to have hobbies, I will describe it in further paragraphs:
In the beginning, everyone should have some kind of hobby in their life, which will help them to relax their mind. For children it is important as they have to do many things in their day to day life like, study, homework and so on. Sometime they do not even get time for themself which make them stubborn and anxious. They should have some kind of hobby which can relax their mind. If their mind is fresh they can concentrate on their studies more easily. For the adults it is crucial to get calm from their busy routine day.
Moreover, working people also need to have at least one hobby like reading books, play games and so on. As they also get frustrated from their day to day work life. If they get holiday they just spend while sleeping. They do not even want to spent with their family members. I think if they have any hobby then they will like to do with the loved ones.
For the retired people, if they do not have anything to do then they will get mentally disturb. They should have at least one hobby for pass their free time.
In conclusion, every individuals should have at least one hobby. Having any hobby help them to stay relax and to pass their free time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the importance of hobbies for different age groups. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention children, working people, and the retired, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the point about working people needing hobbies to avoid frustration is relevant, but it is not supported by specific examples or a more nuanced exploration of the benefits. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the 'why' and 'how' of these benefits, perhaps by discussing the psychological or social impacts in more detail, rather than simply stating that people get frustrated or bored.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices like 'In the beginning', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' to signal transitions. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'they just spend while sleeping', where the object of the verb is missing. To improve, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that pronouns clearly refer back to the intended nouns to create a smoother, more natural progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on simple, repetitive phrasing such as 'have at least one hobby' and 'do many things'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'get calm' instead of 'unwind' or 'relax', and 'mentally disturb' instead of 'mentally disturbed'. To improve, focus on using more precise synonyms and idiomatic expressions related to the topic of leisure and mental well-being, and ensure you are using the correct word forms in your sentences.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'every individuals should have'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'they do not even want to spent'), and missing articles or prepositions. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your verb tenses and forms are consistent and accurate.
