In the modern society, Hobby plays a vital in life of children, adults, working professionals, and old people. Personally, I accord with above mentioned statement. This essay will shed light on this topic along with my own opinion in the subsequent paragraphs.

To commence with the reasons, the first and foremost reason is that having a hobby have many advantages. It increases sense of creativity in adolescents and boosts their confidence to accomplish tasks. In addition, hobbies refresh people mind and helps in reducing stress, anxiety produced from daily routines of office and workload. Moreover, opting hobby in old age is also beneficial because it helps retired individuals to spend their time by watching movies, listening to music, playing sports with grandchildren. Consequently hobbies entertain children, youth, and old people and prevent many health issues that occurs due to loneliness. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses all parts of the prompt, covering the importance of hobbies for children, adults, working professionals, and the retired. The position is clear throughout, and the ideas are relevant. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat repetitive; for instance, the benefits of 'confidence' and 'stress relief' are mentioned in almost every paragraph without significant expansion or variation. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more distinct, nuanced arguments for each age group rather than repeating similar points. The examples provided, such as drawing for children, are relevant but could be more detailed to fully support the argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use a range of cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'In addition', 'Moreover', and 'Consequently'. However, some of these transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the paragraphing could be improved; the second and third body paragraphs cover very similar ground regarding working professionals, which makes the structure feel slightly disjointed. Improving the logical flow between paragraphs would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'adolescents', 'professionals', 'isolation', and 'unwinding'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'Hobby plays a vital in life' (missing 'role') and 'opting hobby' (should be 'adopting a hobby' or 'taking up a hobby'). There is also some repetition of basic vocabulary like 'beneficial' and 'creative'. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and varying your word choice to avoid repeating the same descriptors throughout the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('having a hobby have', 'hobbies... helps', 'issues that occurs'). There are also missing articles ('in life of children', 'in modern society') and minor punctuation errors. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher band score. You should focus on proofreading for basic agreement and article usage to ensure your writing is more accurate.
