It is important for children, young adults, working people and the retired to have at least one hobby.

Student answer (Band 7.0)

It is often argued that people of all ages, including children, adults, working professionals and retired should have at least one hobby. I completely agree with this view because hobbies provide several benefits such as, reducing stress, improving mental well-being and helping people to develop useful skills.

To commence with, there are numerous benefits that hobbies can bring in everyone’s life. The first and foremost benefit is reducing stress and improving mental wellbeing. To elaborate more, nowadays life has become very stressful and hectic specially for children and working professionals because of their study pressure and deadline of the project from manager. Having a hobby allow individual to take a break from their busy schedule which directly help individual to reduce stress and anxiety of their life and can feel relaxed as well as focused. For instance, a working professional who spends an hour playing cricket and reading book after their work may feel more relaxed and return to their responsibilities with greater motivation. Similarly, retired people can avoid boredom and loneliness by participating in activities such as gardening, yoga, cooking and painting.

Another important benefit is that hobbies can help people to develop new skills and build confidence. Children can learn valuable qualities such as creativity, patience, honesty, teamwork, and discipline through hobbies. For example, a child who learns to play a football needs to practice regularly, which can improve both teamwork and concentration. Young adult can also learn from hobbies because activities such as cricket and chess may help them discover their interest and develop skills that can be useful for their personal and future growth.

In conclusion, I strongly believe that having at least one hobby is beneficial for people of all ages. Hobbies not only provide relaxation and help to reduce stress but also help to develop new skill and encourage personal development. Therefore, people should make time for activities they enjoy regardless of their age or occupation.
