Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that hobby is not limited to any age group, also every individual should have their own hobby. while there are some valid arguments that hobby is not necessary for each individual, I largely disagree with the statement because an individual expresses passion through their hobby and also it is they way conveying their feelings in a thing or habbit.
The primary reason why I disagree with this view is that when an individual is busy in a life race and working hard to fulfill their needs which make them feel stressed. This is because a human bieng of any age always carry a feeling to do something for themselves. For example an gegiatric person which spend most of the time in home or in there own zone so they always love to spend their time with the memories of the hobbies which not only make them happy but also it makes them proud.
Another significant reason is that every person has their own passion. when they spend a life doing a job or businesses, they always forget to go with their passion and in last they all are with their time and assets. It can effect their mental health and also make them feel regret.
In conclusion, I agree that hobby is not limited to any age, so every human bieng should have their own hobby. Because in this world our life is not a race so we should not only spend our lifes but also to live them.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a personal opinion regarding whether people of all ages should have a hobby. The writer expresses a clear position ('I largely disagree with the statement', although contextually this means they agree that everyone *should* have a hobby, pointing out disagreement with the notion that they are unnecessary). Ideas are extended with some supporting explanations, such as the discussion around modern work stress and the emotional benefits for older individuals. However, the development tends to be somewhat repetitive and lacks specific, well-developed real-world examples, relying instead on generalized statements like 'an gegiatric person which spend most of the time in home'. Consequently, the task response sits comfortably at Band 6, as all parts are addressed but the ideas lack full elaboration and polish.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, such as work stress and aging. However, cohesive devices are sometimes faulty, mechanical, or awkward. For instance, transitional phrases like 'in last they all are with their time and assets' and 'This is because a human bieng' disrupt the logical flow. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and pronouns do not always clearly point to their antecedents. There is also a lack of sophisticated cohesive linking between sentences and paragraphs. Therefore, a Band 5.0 is appropriate, reflecting noticeable mechanical cohesion and limited use of referencing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases such as 'life race', 'fulfillment', and 'mental health'. However, there are numerous noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and spelling throughout the text, including 'habbit' instead of habit, 'gegiatric' instead of geriatric, and 'effect' instead of affect. Phrases such as 'spend a life doing a job' and 'live them' rather than 'live life' indicate limited lexical flexibility and precision. These errors do not completely impede communication, but they cause difficulty for the reader at times, placing the lexical resource clearly within the Band 5 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some ambition with subordinate clauses such as 'when an individual is busy in a life race and working hard to fulfill their needs which make them feel stressed.' However, control over grammar and punctuation is weak, with frequent errors that occasionally impede understanding. There are notable issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'hobby is not limited', 'human bieng ... carry'), missing articles, and awkward relative clause constructions. Because complex sentences are frequently faulty and errors are persistent throughout the text, the performance aligns with Band 5.
