Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is crucial for everyoe to have at least one hobby regardless of their age. I agree with this statement because it helps people to unwind, increase concentration and reduce crime.
One of the most significant benefits for people of different ages to have a hobby is to decompress. In today's competitive world, many individuals work for longer hours without any breaks. After reaching home, they can relax by doing their hobbies. Some people like listening to music while others prefer to read books. Spending time while doing something they interest help people to relax. Moreover, if family also have a same hobby, it help family in spending quality time with their loved ones and create beautiful memories.
Another considerable factor for people to have hobby is to increase concentration. When children started doing the activities in which they interest, it help them in increasing their concentration and they feel more confident. Moreover, people who retired do not have much activites to do, consequently if they have any hobby they can use their leisure time in improving their skills and they can also build new hobbies according to their interest. Whenever older people feel isolated and bore they can pursuing their hobbies and it can help them in making new friends and avoid boredom.
Another compelling benefit of having hobby is to reduce crime rate. When people have no hobby and they do not have nothing to do in free time. There is a probability that people can come in contact in bad people especially youngesters and may indulge in some crimes. Instead, if people have hobby they can using their time in improving their skills. In this manner they can avoid the company of bad people and being a part of good society.
In concluson, it is correct to say that it is significant for all the people to have atleast one hobby so that they can be a good person to live in the society. It helps them to relax and make an effective use of time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position on whether people of various ages need hobbies. The introduction outlines three specific points: unwinding, increasing concentration, and reducing crime. Each body paragraph explores one of these areas across different age groups, such as working adults, children, and retired individuals. While the arguments are generally relevant and extended with examples, some points like reducing crime are somewhat over-generalized and speculative. Nevertheless, the main position is sustained throughout the essay, fulfilling the requirements for Band 6.5 or a solid Band 6 in Task Achievement. Ideas are developed, though the depth of support varies slightly.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph-by-paragraph structure that addresses different demographics. Cohesive devices are used to guide the reader through the text, such as "One of the most significant benefits," "Moreover," and "Another considerable factor." However, some cohesive referencing is occasionally faulty or mechanical, as seen in repetitive transitional phrases like "Another compelling benefit" and minor grammatical errors in conjunctions. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs dedicated to distinct points, and a concluding paragraph. Overall organisation demonstrates a logical progression throughout.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as "decompress," "isolated," and "indulge." However, there are noticeable word-choice and collocation errors throughout the text, including typos like "everyoe" and unnatural phrasing such as "they interest" instead of "they are interested in" or "they find interesting." Other inaccuracies include "bore" instead of "bored," and "come in contact in bad people." While these errors do not impede communication, they reflect a Band 6 level where vocabulary control is sometimes inconsistent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence forms. The writer attempts complex structures using subordinate clauses, such as "In today's competitive world, many individuals work for longer hours without any breaks." However, frequent grammatical and punctuation errors occur, particularly with subject-verb agreement and preposition usage, such as "if family also have a same hobby," "children started doing the activities," and "they can using their time." Despite these frequent errors in complex sentences, simple sentences are generally accurate, and meaning is rarely obscured, aligning well with the descriptors for Band 5.5 or 6.0.
