Student answer (Band 5.5)
Hobbies are important activities for individuals of all ages, as these keep them engaged and happy. In my opinion, it is always important for children, young adults, working people and the retired to have at least one hobby. This essay describes the importance of hobbies with some examples from the real life.
In reverse chronological, the global researches show that after retirement, the people get different deseases like, enxiety and depression, because they did not get required family and freinds time. In this race of earning more and more money, to fullfil the luxary life's requirements, young people are unable to give sufficient time at home with parents and family; the kids are also busy in their study and different other activities, which have left the retired (elders) alone. In this case only a good hobby can keep the people engaged and busy in some creative activities.
Secondly, yound adults and working people also require some hobby to get releif from the routine study as well as work load. For instance, many hobbies provide different ways of refreshment and mental health. Some of the hobbies like gardening, fishing, travelling, and different types of excercises are the key players for a man's health.
At last the hobbies are also important for the children, as these are the source of knowledge and creativity. Human beings can not work on same activities and patterns, they always need something new to keep themselvs excited and active. Similar to other ages, the hobbies keep the children enganged in multiple scenarios.
In conclusion the hobbies play an important role in all age groups, children, young adults, working people and the retired as well, but I beleive the hobbies must the healthy and people shouldn't be edictive to them, for instance some people have hobbies to play video games and they spend huge time on screens which bady effects their mind, eye and over all health.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing the importance of hobbies for children, young adults, working people, and the retired, presenting a clear position throughout. The introduction clearly states the writer's opinion, and body paragraphs provide relevant examples such as gardening, fishing, and travelling. However, some ideas feel slightly under-developed or broad, particularly the opening generalization about retirement diseases and family time. The conclusion adds a nuanced perspective about unhealthy hobbies like excessive video gaming. This places the response comfortably at Band 6.0, as it addresses all parts of the task with relevant ideas, though some extension lacks full depth.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay is arranged with a clear overall structure, including a distinct introduction, body paragraphs for different demographic groups, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. Cohesive devices are employed to signal progression, such as 'Secondly', 'At last', and 'In conclusion'. However, referencing and transitions are sometimes faulty or mechanical, such as the awkward transition 'In reverse chronological' at the start of the second paragraph, which misuses a chronological term. Furthermore, some sentences lack smooth logical flow. Overall, the organizational structure meets the criteria for Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating terms like 'chronological', 'generations', 'refreshment', and 'creativity'. There are, however, several noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'deseases' instead of diseases, 'enxiety' instead of anxiety, 'freinds' instead of friends, 'fullfil' instead of fulfill, 'luxary' instead of luxury, 'releif' instead of relief, 'yound' instead of young, 'enganged' instead of engaged, 'beleive' instead of believe, 'edictive' instead of addictive, and 'bady' instead of badly. These errors indicate a Band 5.5, as the vocabulary range is adequate, but frequent lexical and spelling inaccuracies occasionally cause strain for the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over grammar with complex structures such as 'In the race of earning more and more money, to fullfil the luxary life's requirements, young people are unable to give sufficient time...' However, there are frequent grammatical errors, awkward phrasings, and punctuation mistakes, including 'Global researches show that after retirement, the people get...', 'Human beings can not work on same activities...', and 'hobbies must the healthy and people shouldn't be edictive to them'. Articles are also frequently misused ('in the real life', 'a man's health', 'huge time on screens'). Because the mix of structures contains frequent errors that occasionally impede smooth reading, a Band 5.5 is appropriate.
