IELTS Writing Task 2 question
It is important for children, young adults, working people and the retired to have at least one hobby.
What's your opinion about this?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is believed by some people that It is crucial to have at least one hobby in everyone's life. I completely agree with this statement and I think that there is no connection between hobby and age. Any age group can have one hobby in order to have healthy life style, personal growth and to make own self more creative. I will explain positive side of hobby in upcoming paragraphs.
Firstly, hobby is essential for working people mental well being. To be more precise, people are leaving busy lifestyle due to office workload and financial pressure which is directly affecting their mental health. But, if they do any activity that they like even for a 30 mintues will help them to fresh thier mindset. Eventually, It will improve their work performance. Secodly, if children and young adults have one hobby, it can make them well- known person if they become pro player in specific game that they enjoy playing. Sachin Tendulker, for instance, he choose his hobby over anything and now he is one of the best cricketer in the world. Having hobby from childhood can make huge diffrence in their life.
Apart from that, hobby can make person more physical fit. In details, many hobby requires physical strength and workout such as bedminton, swimming, hiking etc. As a result, individule can improve thier stemina and energy to finish any activity which requires physical strengh. Hobby also play's an important role in retired people life by giving them opportunities to learn new games or any unique activities. In India, for example, old age people are accepting either farming as an activity to maintain physical strength or play chess to sharp mind.
In conclusion, hobby can create various positive impact in person's life by helping working people to fight with mental stress, child's personal growth and also provides advantage to old age people.
