Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is very crucial for young ones, teenagers, workers, and old people to adopt at least one hobby. In my opinion having an interest in particular thing will make their life more enjoyable.
To begin with, kids and teenagers can spend their time visely if they have one good habit. To elaborate it, instead of wasting time on watching tv they can build a strong interest by practicing that hobby. For instance, kids who are interested in paint, sports or other curicullum activities can enhance their habit by practicing that during a free time as a source of enjoyment and fun which will not only make them mentally and physically fit but also help to enhance the knowledge about their interest. As a result, having a good habit, play a vital role in changing their life, and have lots of positive impact on childrens.
Moreover, Working individual and Retired person can also benefit themselves if they adopted one good hobby. To enhance it, Pupil who work 9 to 6 can do a evening walk just to relax their mind or can cook some delicious food to relive some stress. In addition, old people can spend their time easily if they have adopted one good habit. For example, a recent survey show that 80%people who have a good hobby stay more positive and stress free, then the people who just waste their time scrolling reels on phone. Hence, Adopting a Hobby help people to utilise their time without wasting it.
In conclusion, although everyone is really busy in their daily routines, but they should have one hobby to take some break from the daily chores and to make their life even more better.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing the importance of hobbies across various age groups, including children, teenagers, working individuals, and retired people. The writer takes a clear position in the introduction that having an interest makes life more enjoyable. Ideas are generally extended and supported, such as giving examples of working adults taking evening walks or cooking to relieve stress, and mentioning a survey regarding stress-free retired people. However, the student uses the terms "hobby" and "habit" interchangeably throughout the essay, which creates slight confusion regarding the core topic. Furthermore, some arguments could be explored in greater depth. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, placing this response firmly in the Band 6 territory.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs addressing different demographic groups, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to divide ideas. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and repetitive, relying heavily on transitional phrases like "To begin with," "To elaborate it," and "Moreover." Referencing and substitution are occasionally imprecise, particularly with the confusion between "hobby" and "habit" (e.g., "if they have one good habit"). While logical progression is maintained throughout the text, these mechanical transitions and lexical confusions prevent the essay from achieving a higher band score, making Band 6 an accurate reflection of its cohesive qualities.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating terms such as "crucial," "enjoyable," "physically fit," and "relieve some stress." However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including "visely" instead of wisely, "paint" instead of painting, "curicullum" instead of curriculum, "Working individual" instead of working individuals, and "80%people" with a missing space. The persistent confusion between "hobby" and "habit" also limits lexical precision. While communication is never impeded, these inaccuracies and the reliance on somewhat basic vocabulary restrict the score to a Band 6.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, successfully using relative clauses and conditional structures such as "kids who are interested in paint... can enhance their habit... which will not only make them mentally and physically fit but also help to enhance the knowledge." There are, however, several grammatical and punctuation errors present, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., "having a good habit, play a vital role" and "a recent survey show"), missing articles ("watching tv"), and awkward phrasing ("then the people"). Punctuation errors also appear, such as a comma splice in the conclusion ("although everyone is really busy... but they should..."). Because simple sentences are generally accurate while complex structures contain frequent errors, this aligns with the Band 6 descriptors.
