Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people believe that it is vital for childern, younger and employer and people who are retired to have one favourite hobby. I agree with this notion. I will explain the reasons and my point of view in upcoing paragraphs.
To begin with, the first and foremost reason is that it help them to reduce their stress. To eleborate this, every individual who have hobby when they feel tired they can spend their time on their favourite activity. they forget about the workload and feel relex. For example, people who do job in any field. They have a lot of stress regading their work. when they do their hobby such as listen to music. They feel more energetic. Thus, it is necessary for everyone to have one hobby.
To commence with, the second reason is that, they can spend their free time on it. To explain this, when they are free at home. they have nothing to do . They feel bored. Therefore, it is important for the utilization of free time.
According to my opinion, if we have a any hobby it would be beneficial for us like we can spend our leisure time on it and increase our knoweldge. To justify it, some people have hobby of reading books which asist them to enhance their knowledge. Apart from this, if childern have not any favourite activity they spend their time on mischeivies activities. So, every person should have hobby.
In conclusion, hobbies play vital rale in every individual life. Because peolpe can spend their free time on it as well as it helps them to relif from stress.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by clearly stating an opinion on whether various age groups need a hobby and providing supporting reasons. The student attempts to cover different life stages mentioned in the prompt, such as working people and the retired, although some ideas are slightly repetitive or under-developed. For example, the arguments regarding stress reduction and utilizing free time are introduced but rely on general examples like listening to music or reading books. A clearer position is maintained throughout the essay, aligning well with the Band 6 descriptor where all parts are addressed, but some ideas lack full extension and depth.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion. Paragraphing is attempted, with distinct sections for different arguments. However, the progression is sometimes hampered by repetitive use of transitional phrases such as To begin with, To commence with, and To explain this, which makes the cohesion feel mechanical and formulaic. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as pronoun shifts where it is uncertain whether 'they' refers to children, workers, or retired individuals. These features place the response firmly at Band 5.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate basic ideas about hobbies and stress. However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, such as childern instead of children, employer instead of employees, upcoing instead of upcoming, eleborate instead of elaborate, relex instead of relaxed, regading instead of regarding, asist instead of assist, mischeivies instead of mischievous, rale instead of role, peolpe instead of people, and relif instead of relief. While these errors are frequent, they rarely impede communication entirely. The student attempts less common vocabulary, but inaccurate spelling and morphological control keep the score at Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some capability to construct multi-clause sentences. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly regarding verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and sentence fragments. Examples include every individual who have hobby when they feel tired, they have nothing to do . They feel bored, and if childern have not any favourite activity they spend their time on mischeivies activities. Punctuation errors, such as missing capitalisation and incorrect full stops within sentences, are also noticeable. Because the frequency of errors is high and causes some difficulty for the reader, a Band 5 is appropriate.
