IELTS Writing Task 2 question

It is important for children, young adults, working people and the retired to have at least one hobby.

What's your opinion about this?

Student answer (Band 6.5)

People of all age range should have at least one hobby thats keeps them going or serves as a relaxing thing to do and also a way to unwind.

Children are mostly occupied with studying, doing assignments, preparing for exams, moving to the next class and this can be a lot to juggle sometimes. Their brain needs rest and a form of relaxation and for kids its mostly playing football, playing a musical instrument, singing or even travelling to visit tourist attractions. Its even mostly said that all work no play makes jack a dull boy, a kid should be allowed to relax pick up an hobby most especially during holiday. This helps in their overall growth and wellbeing even enhancing social interaction.

Adulthood comes with a lot of responsibilties that people even tend to forget themselves in between. Forget what used to make them happy or tick or relax their nerves, some people's daily rountine is work, home and work again. They do not have anything that they enjoy doing and when work or life sometimes become overbearing or a little bit too much, they tend to crash down instead if diverting themselves into what honestly calms them down or relaxes their mind. Weekends or work leave should be for doing things that calms or relaxes your mind, not watching movies or staying indoor all day. Taking a trip is nice, painting, karoke, hiking, swimming and so on. All this keeps your mind fresh and at peace.

Having a hobby while still actively working won't allow retirement be boring or lonely. At this point in life, people mostly have a lof of time on their hands and if they did not have anything they enjoy doing before that time it can be very difficult and lonely. if you enjoy reading,attending book clubs at this stage is good, it helps socialize and improve overall health making them feel vibrant and good
