Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is true that it is more necessary for all ages have at least one hobby. I totally agree with this statement due to several reasons.
To begin with, there are certain reasons attached with this phenomenon. From the perspective children viewpoints, if children have hobbies, they are interst to do those work which they like in turn of which they would effort to do it. For instance, most of the children love to play footbal, they do hard work to win the prizes from their counterparts owing to which they can learn their moral skills including team work, communication and problem solving which is more necessary for them in the future.
Moreover, young adults are immature that is why they have no difference between right or bad things so if they have hobby, they can indulge in it as a result, they can save to run into wrong path. To explain, most of the time, they are alone at home because his parents are workholic and they can watch any videos on internet which put destructive impact on their growth if they have hobby, they prefer to watch videos related to it insgtead watching aggressive videos. From the perspective of working people, these day everyone are busy in their work due to more competition in every field that is why they have need to more attention on their work as a consequence they can suffer from anxiety and depression when they have hobby, that helps them to stay away from stress and anxiety. Mooreover, retired people feel isolated at home because everyone busy in our work so they feel bored at home so if they love to watch program on internet, they do not feel alone.
To conclude, without hobbies life can be bored so hobbies are more necessary for children, teenagers and senior people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position that having a hobby is beneficial across all age groups, moving from children and young adults to working people and retired individuals. Ideas are relevant, but some are more fully developed than others, which is characteristic of this level. For instance, the section on children provides a clearer example regarding football and moral skills, whereas the segments on young adults and retired individuals tend to over-generalise and remain somewhat repetitive and under-developed. To reach a higher band, all population segments would need to be explored with equally extended and well-supported arguments, ensuring that every idea is fully explained rather than relying on brief assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion, and paragraphs are used to separate the different age groups. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and referencing is not always clear. Phrases like 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude' are employed to sequence ideas, but internal paragraph cohesion suffers from run-on sentences and repetitive transitional patterns such as 'so if they... as a result, they can...'. Furthermore, referencing devices like 'his parents' create confusion due to pronoun-antecedent disagreement. To improve, the writer should use a wider variety of cohesive devices more naturally and ensure tighter logical links between sentences within each paragraph.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The lexical range is adequate for the task, successfully communicating the main points, but vocabulary control is limited. There are noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form that occasionally cause strain for the reader, such as 'interst to do those work', 'footbal', 'workholic', and 'insgtead'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, like 'phenomenon', 'counterparts', and 'isolated', but these attempts are accompanied by inaccurate collocations or spelling mistakes. To achieve a higher band, the student needs to expand their range of vocabulary, improve spelling accuracy, and ensure that words are used in their correct grammatical forms and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer displays a limited range of structures, relying mostly on a mix of simple sentences and long, over-extended complex sentences connected by conjunctions like 'so' and 'because'. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text, including missing articles ('at least one hobby', 'play footbal'), incorrect verb forms ('all ages have', 'everyone are busy'), and issues with preposition use inside grammatical patterns. Although these errors rarely impede overall communication, they occur with enough frequency to prevent the writing from achieving a higher score. To progress, the writer must incorporate a wider variety of error-free complex structures and pay closer attention to basic subject-verb agreement and punctuation.
