Student answer (Band 5.5)
Due to easy access to technology and resources, people of different age group tend to lack of exercise. Different generation groups should have atleast one hobby to relish the livelyhood and that might result in better health. In my opinion, it is true to have one hobby that brings joy and inner kid out wether its a sports or even a coin collecting or bidding on antiques.
Having a hobby not only keeps mind diverted and also is a strong brain exercise. Accomlishing something related to your hobby also bring joy and happiness that is hard and precious. Hobby could be passion towards a thing , the sports, reading or even painting. It is necessory in order to make a person disciplaned and consistent.
In the new era of technolgy, it has become easy to trade good and the collectable edition online. Due to which passion and hobby for cards, coins, stamps and other collector edition have lost some value and peoples interest in persuing their hobby.
In my experience, My friend was jobless and did not have an activity or hobby, which has led him to be drunk everynight and sleep all days. Eventually, he was unable to go and seek for a job and resulted in tenant eviction and became a homeless wondering on the streets. In case he had a hobby and had some regular dopamine released through brain, I believe results could have been different.
All in all, it is important for person wether its could be toddler, baby or even retired person to ediquate and establish a hobby to be healthy and get an regular muscle and brain expercise.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing the importance of having a hobby across different age groups and clearly stating a personal position in the introduction. However, the development of ideas is uneven. For example, while the point about mental stimulation is introduced in phrases like "keeps mind diverted and also is a strong brain exercise," it remains somewhat under-developed without deeper explanation. The personal example regarding a friend losing a job provides a relevant anecdote, but the connection back to the prompt's central theme of hobbies and life stages is slightly stretched. To move closer to higher bands, the writer needs to extend and support all arguments more thoroughly with clearer reasoning and more consistent elaboration throughout the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a discernible introduction, body paragraphs, and a concluding remark. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by mechanical or repetitive cohesive devices. For instance, the transition between sentences feels abrupt in places, such as moving from the discussion of digital collection in paragraph three directly into the personal anecdote in paragraph four without a smooth conceptual bridge. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in the phrasing "Due to which passion..." which creates a choppy flow. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal logical progression within the paragraphs lacks the seamless connectivity required for higher bands, often relying on repetitive structural patterns rather than varied cohesive ties.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the task, providing an acceptable range of words to communicate basic ideas about hobbies and daily life. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as "relish the livelyhood," "bidding on antiques," and "collector edition," but these attempts are accompanied by noticeable inaccuracies in word form, spelling, and collocation. Examples include spelling errors like "wether," "Accomlishing," "necessory," "disciplaned," "technolgy," "collectable," "persuing," "everynight," "all days," "wondering," and "ediquate." These errors do not completely impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score because the control over less common items lacks precision and creates recurring distractions for the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing displays a limited range of sentence structures, featuring a mix of simple forms and attempted complex sentences that are frequently faulty. There are noticeable errors in grammar, articles, prepositions, and plurals throughout the text, such as "Different generation groups should have atleast one hobby" (missing article/pluralization issues), "peoples interest in persuing," and "get an regular muscle and brain expercise." Attempts at subordination and relative clauses often result in awkward phrasing and structural instability, exemplified by sentences like "In case he had a hobby and had some regular dopamine released through brain, I believe results could have been different." These frequent errors require the reader to occasionally exert effort to parse the intended meaning, reflecting basic control over sentence patterns.
