Student answer (Band 6.0)
Hobbies and interests give meaning to life. They keep us occupied so we don't stay idle. As once we stop moving, we stop progressing. Therefore, it is essentiel for people of all age to walk of life to have at least one hoppy.
Firstly, we observe an extensive increase in online content consumption among teenagers and youngsters. A alot of children under 10 are using tablettes regularly for games and watching videos. However, this also helps them relax and detach from the pressure of studies. We need to monitor and regularize the use, instead of blocking everything.
Secondly, working class is always occupied with their official tasks, stay late in office and sometimes work on weekends to meet deadlines. They need a escape to detox from this mental stress. Otherwise same can trigger anxiety and other healths issues. A healthy hobby, even as small as going to a gym can help them stay fit and fight against mental and physcial diseases.
Lastly, for retired and old age people, they have a lot of time and people around them don't have time to take care of them. They need to socialise more by joining clubs or building a community with like minded people who share same hobbies. Same will help them retain their sanity.
In conclusion, irrespective if the choice of hobby, we need to have passion about something other than our daily acitivities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by expressing a clear opinion about the importance of hobbies for people across different life stages, from children to the retired. However, some ideas are under-developed or lack extension. For example, the discussion on teenagers and digital consumption touches upon relaxation, but the link to the overarching hobby requirement is somewhat briefly handled. Furthermore, the length requirement is not met, as the response contains only 233 words against the required 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of elaboration expected at higher levels.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear central topic, and it effectively uses paragraphing to separate different age groups and life stages. Cohesive devices are employed to signal transitions, such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion', which contribute to the organizational structure. However, referencing is occasionally unclear or mechanical, as seen in phrases like 'Same will help them retain their sanity' and 'Otherwise same can trigger anxiety', which detracts from a smoother logical progression between sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, with attempts to use less-common phrases such as 'detach from the pressure' and 'like minded people'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'essentiel', 'hoppy', 'A alot', 'tablettes', 'regularize', 'physcial', and 'acitivities'. These lexical slips do not severely impede communication, but they reflect limitations in accuracy and stylistic control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing structures such as conditional and subordinate clauses reasonably well. There are some errors in grammar, such as missing articles ('working class is always occupied', 'need a escape'), pluralization issues ('healths issues'), and prepositional errors ('walk of life' instead of 'walks of life'). Punctuation and syntactic errors occur occasionally, but they rarely impede overall communication.
