Student answer (Band 5.5)
It it a irrfutable fact that everyone should have atleast one interest. Mainly the ones who are in growing age, college students, workers and the elders. I do believe that having a hobby for living life is good distraction to live happily.
First and the foremost reason why I belive that is living schedualed life regularly without having any activity of interest can lead to many mental health issues. it can be depressing for young adults, working ones and the old age person. For instance, the global research says that the individual with the personal interest who does their liking activity on regular bases have a healthy heart and joints than person who is only studying and working. It improves mental health and physical health by just doing one liked activity. Moreover, the disadvantages are for not doing extra curriculum can lead to psychological disease like anxiety, low confidence, ADHD.
The second reason why I believe that is because it improve the developmental, speaking, interaction, sports, knowlege skills. Having interest to even a single hobby can have a significant difference in ones life. it improves ones behaviours and social skilld by interacting with multiple individual in day to day activity. it helps to develop individuality by challenging your own self. it also enhance knowlege, it improves interpersonal skills. This all things are positive outcomes for just doing your liking stuff.
To conclude this fact to have a hobby for different category of people is most improtant thing because It makes every individual independent to live their life without depending on the other person emotionally, physically. apart from that it also have positive outcome in ones lifestyle like improvemnt in confidence, interpersonal behaviours, knowledge, health physique.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by stating a clear position that having a hobby is important for people across all life stages, from the young to the elderly. Relevant ideas are presented, such as the mental and physical health benefits of pursuing personal interests and the development of interpersonal skills. However, some ideas are under-developed or repetitive. For instance, the mention of how hobbies prevent psychological diseases like anxiety and ADHD is stated broadly without sufficient explanation or specific real-world examples, relying instead on a vague reference to global research. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to fully extend and support every main idea with deeper explanations and more concrete examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion, and the four-paragraph structure shows an attempt to organize ideas logically. Progression is visible as the writer moves from physical and mental health benefits in the second body paragraph to developmental and social skills in the third. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and faulty. Transitional markers and referencing are repetitive, such as starting consecutive sentences and paragraphs with 'The second reason why I believe that is' or 'It improves'. Furthermore, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the abrupt transition in the final paragraph starting with 'To conclude this fact to have a hobby...'. Improving the variety and accuracy of cohesive devices would elevate the organizational quality.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items and general topic-related terms like 'developmental', 'interpersonal', and 'psychological disease'. However, there are noticeable spelling errors ('irrfutable', 'schedualed', 'knowlege', 'improvemnt') and word-choice inaccuracies ('working ones', 'old age person', 'liked activity', 'extra curriculum'). These lexical flaws and awkward collocations cause some occasional difficulty for the reader, though communication is generally maintained. To achieve a higher band, the student must demonstrate greater precision in word choice and significantly reduce spelling mistakes through careful proofreading.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt to use varied structures. There are, however, some errors in grammar and punctuation that surface throughout the text. These include subject-verb agreement issues ('This all things are', 'it also have'), article omissions ('living life', 'in day to day activity'), and awkward phrasing within grammatical patterns. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent the text from reaching a cleaner grammatical standard. A higher band would require a broader range of error-free complex sentences and better control over punctuation and basic syntactic rules.
