Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this world of technology , Every one is busy on phones with usual things like scolling , studies , jobs and learning new skills. As per my opion people who is emplyed , students and who are retired should have any specific hobby which require physical and mental musules required which is good for all well being rather than wasteing time.

To commence with advantages of having a hobby. It will be distration from daily hactic schedule from working people might we a lot of paper work related to any project depend upon the job. if they have hobby of doing gym daily it relax there mind and physically they can stay fit . howver, who don not do any exercise will increse there stress as well as they might be effected by any health issues like sleepless nights and migranes.

Secondly , Having any hobby might become employment in future which can be more fun if you enjoy doing that as in this social media life there are many influencer and gamers are doing for example triggered inssan indian based gamer. he did engineerring before youtube . he did job for 1 year he was so stressed during that then he started youtube now he is one of the famous and highly paid youtube it is always about courage and risk ability .

nextly , i think during old age people feel more alone so with hobby they can pass free time and have something for stay away from diseases or helpfull to cure the disease from that hobby Such as walking .

To conclude , i think it is really helfull to have some hobby which can help in so many ways as streess free life , do job which can be hobby , at old age can cue disease which just help ourself not take anything from us people somtimes say we don not have time for that which is just excuse if person can manage so many things then people can manage timefor him or herself .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you believe people of different ages should have a hobby, and you give relevant reasons involving stress relief, possible employment, and older people’s wellbeing. The examples of going to the gym and the gamer who turned YouTube into a career help make the argument concrete. The response addresses the main question, but the ideas are not developed equally. The discussion of stress and exercise is more explained, while the point about hobbies helping older people avoid or cure disease is asserted rather than supported. The career example also focuses on one person without explaining how this benefit applies more broadly. To strengthen the response, explain each reason more fully and qualify health claims with a clear, realistic example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To commence with,” “Secondly,” and “To conclude” help signal the stages of the argument, and the reader can follow the main points. However, some linking is mechanical, and transitions such as “nextly” do not sound natural. Several sentences run together or shift abruptly between ideas, particularly in the first body paragraph and the conclusion, making relationships between claims less clear. Referencing is also occasionally vague, as in “from that hobby” and “which just help ourself.” Use clearer sentence boundaries and connect each example directly to the point it supports; vary transitions rather than relying mainly on numbered sequencing.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “hobby,” “stress,” “employment,” “influencer,” and “health issues,” and you communicate several distinct benefits. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause, for example “distration,” “hactic,” “musules,” and “cue disease.” Some expressions are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “do gym daily,” “risk ability,” and “highly paid youtube.” This limits the clarity and flexibility of the vocabulary. Build a reliable set of collocations for discussing leisure, wellbeing, and work, and proofread spelling carefully. Choosing precise, natural phrases will make your ideas easier to understand without needing more complicated vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional ideas such as “if they have hobby of doing gym daily” and a relative clause in “which can help in so many ways.” This shows some range, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries occur across the response. For example, “people who is emplyed” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “it relax there mind” needs a correctly formed verb and possessive pronoun. The long sentence beginning “To conclude” contains several ideas joined without clear punctuation, which makes the structure difficult to follow. Practise building accurate sentences first, then combine them with conjunctions; check agreement and articles, and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
