Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is agrued that having a meaningful hobby is considerably the most important approach for children, retired or working people and young adults to spend quality leisure time. While some people prefer to spend free time without doing anything whereas i believe this perspective that having one effective hobby can broaden up your perspectives, keeps you away from negative thoughts and offers you a quality time for reasonable growth.

One of the main reasons to have atleast a single hobby to learn and explore new ideas in free time. This is particularly beneficial to enhance knowledge, to develop skills and learning new techniquesapart from whole busy working schedule. For example, if a job person spend an hour of the day to any hobby like book reading so that he may be efficient in exploring things than who have no hobby at all. Therefore, hobbies are essential for grooming and learning insights for a positive personality

Another significant factor is that it keeps your mind engage and process in leisure time. This is deliberately essential to keep people away from negative thoughts because it has detrimental effects on brain activity which hinders the productivity at work. For instance, those people who always engage themselves in any kind of activity in their free times, have considerably higher growth at their workplace than those who donot. As a result, being busy is always a blessing. It has a significant positive impact on daily chores.

In conclusion, many people believe that having atleast single hobby is beneficial for children, young adults, wroking and retired persons whereas i also firmly agree this opnion beacuse hobbies makes you productive, helps to explore new ideas and keeps away from absurd thinking. Therefore, people who spend their free time efficiently are far more productive than who waste their time and do nothing.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that people of different ages benefit from having a hobby, and the conclusion restates this view. You give two relevant reasons—hobbies can support learning and skills, and they can occupy the mind and reduce negative thoughts—along with examples such as reading and workplace activity. However, the age groups in the prompt are not explored equally: most of the explanation focuses on working people, with little specific discussion of children or retired people. Some claims, such as hobbyists having “higher growth at their workplace,” are asserted without enough explanation. Develop each reason with a more precise example and show how hobbies benefit different groups.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Each body paragraph centres on a separate reason, and signposts such as “One of the main reasons,” “Another significant factor,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the overall arrangement. Cohesion is sometimes mechanical, however, and some links between ideas are unclear. For example, “For example” introduces a reading example, but the sentence’s construction makes the relationship difficult to follow; “Therefore” then leads to a broad claim about personality. Improve progression by explaining each example before drawing a conclusion, and use clearer references so that phrases such as “this perspective” and “it” have unmistakable meanings.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “detrimental effects,” “productivity,” “grooming,” and “leisure time.” These choices show an effort to express ideas beyond basic vocabulary. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “broaden up your perspectives,” “keeps your mind engage,” and “quality time for reasonable growth” do not convey the intended meaning smoothly. Spelling errors such as “agr ued,” “wroking,” and “opnion” also detract from control. Aim for natural combinations such as “broaden your horizons,” “keep your mind engaged,” and “personal development,” and proofread carefully for spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast in the introduction and clauses beginning with “because” and “who.” Meaning is generally recoverable, but errors in sentence structure and grammatical control occur often enough to make some sentences awkward or unclear. For example, “One of the main reasons to have atleast a single hobby to learn” is not a complete, well-formed sentence, while “if a job person spend an hour” has problems with the subject and verb form. There are also agreement and article errors, as in “hobbies makes you productive.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, articles, and punctuation when editing.
