Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you believe everyone should have a hobby, and you give relevant reasons, including the possibility of turning an interest into a career and the emotional support a hobby may provide. The example about your friend gaining a large following helps illustrate the first point. However, the response only partly develops the task: it focuses mainly on young people and does not explain why hobbies matter to children, working adults, or retired people. The claim about celebrities attempting suicide is also presented as something heard on a podcast rather than supported or explained, so it is not fully convincing. To strengthen the response, develop a separate, specific reason and example that applies to a wider range of age groups.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each body paragraph has a main focus, and phrases such as “If I talk about” and “To conclude” help signal movement between ideas. Overall, the reader can follow your argument. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “I heard that” introduces the second reason without clearly connecting it to the previous paragraph, while the opening sentence of the introduction repeats “actually” and does not lead smoothly into the thesis. The conclusion also introduces advice rather than briefly bringing together the reasons. Use clearer links between claims and examples, and make each paragraph progress from its main point to explanation and support.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “hobby,” “career,” “followers,” “creative,” and “disciplined,” and the examples make your meaning generally understandable. There are also attempts at more expressive phrasing, such as “a reason to not give up.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or informal choices make parts of the response difficult to read, including “husting life,” “a great celebrity,” and “earning in millions.” Spelling errors such as “eassy,” “intresting,” and “deciplined” are noticeable. Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully; for instance, describe a hobby as a “source of fulfilment” or say someone “built a large following” rather than relying on vague or unnatural phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses that explain reasons, as in “Because of her interesting content her followers got raised by 2 million.” This shows an effort to connect ideas, but control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “Having hobby is a blessing,” “A hobby can leads you,” and “she did not had any hobbies,” where articles or verb forms are incorrect. Some sentences also have unclear construction, such as “If I talk about generation Z which from I am.” Use a reliable mix of shorter sentences and carefully formed complex ones. Check subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb forms, and punctuate introductory phrases to make sentence boundaries clearer.
