Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays people are busy in their work schedules and home chores. There is an argument that it is very crucial for kids, youth, employees and the person who is retired to have at least one hobby in their life. I believe that having certain hobbies make people relax and fosters sense of well being.
In today's world learning something new helps the person to stay healthy and motivated. The man who is keen in playing sports apart from his daily work provides extra strength and agility to their body which can consume more oxygen that helps for better blood circulation. For instance, a person who plays tennis needs extra strength to run and focus on dynamic movements doing so body will take more oxygen which enables blood purification and extra circulation. Moreover, some hobbies help to make better career and this way it impliments more opportunities for future growth. To illustrate, if some one is interested in cooking can participate in the competetion and doing so they might get opportunity to grow further and can make their own restaurant.
In addition, apart from academics learning music makes students enthusiastic and kills boredom. Many children can spend time in playing piano or guitar if they are frustrated by studying same subjects. For example, some kids hate doing their school work. If they play any instrument which can divert their mind for sometime and start learning with a fresh mood. Furthermore, if older people makes hobby to walk on daily basis that will make them fit and less vunerable to health issues.
In my opinion, having at least one hobby in a life makes a person motivated and fit by playing sports. It also helps them for career buildup in future.
To conclude, hobbies play vital role in keeping body and mind relaxed which also helps to kill boredom. Therefore, it is important to have at least one hobby to maintain fitness and sense of wellbeing.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you support everyone having a hobby, and you give relevant reasons involving fitness, career opportunities, students’ wellbeing and older people’s health. The examples of tennis, cooking and learning an instrument help make the discussion concrete. This fully covers the task at a basic level, and the career example shows some development beyond simply stating an opinion. However, the benefits are not explored equally: the claims about oxygen and “blood purification” are unclear and need more accurate explanation, while the point about older people is brief. The conclusion repeats the main benefits rather than drawing the reasons together. To strengthen the response further, explain how each example demonstrates your central view and develop the less-supported points.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, a personal opinion and a conclusion. Paragraphs generally group related ideas, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “In addition” and “To conclude” make the direction easy to follow. This gives the essay an overall coherent arrangement. However, some connections feel mechanical, and the first body paragraph moves from sports and health to career prospects without a clear transition between these distinct benefits. References such as “doing so” and “that” are not always precise, so readers must infer what they refer to. The separate opinion paragraph also repeats points already made in the introduction and conclusion. Use clearer links between each reason and example, and organise each paragraph around one main benefit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to discuss hobbies and their benefits, including “agility,” “motivated,” “enthusiastic” and “vulnerable.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “dynamic movements” and “future growth.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “fosters sense of well being,” “kills boredom,” “make better career” and “career buildup.” Spelling errors such as “impliments,” “competetion” and “vun erable” (written as “vun erable” only if separated; in your text, “vun erable” is not present) also need attention; the actual form “vun erable” should be checked against your written “vun erable” — more importantly, “vunerable” is misspelled in the response. These issues make the vocabulary less precise, though the overall meaning remains understandable. Prioritise accurate collocations and proofread spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “if,” “which” and “that,” and most ideas can be understood. Some sentence patterns are effective, such as the explanation of how music can help students return to study with a fresh mood. However, there are recurring errors in agreement, articles and sentence construction: “having certain hobbies make people” should use a singular verb, and “older people makes hobby” has incorrect agreement and an incomplete grammatical pattern. In “if some one is interested in cooking can participate,” the subject is missing from the main clause. Articles and plurals also need more consistent control. These errors do not usually prevent understanding, but they reduce accuracy. Review subject–verb agreement and check that each clause has a complete subject and verb.
