Student answer (Band 6.0)
Hobbies play an inevitable role to build an inspire life of the person. It has been said that, there are multiple advantages of having atleast one specific interest in our lives, such as to maintain overall wellbeing, to relive stress and to gain economic success day by day. The details are mentioned in the following paragraphs.
The first and foremost benefit of developing hobbies is to keep ourselves healthy. Emotional, physical and social well-being can be maintained by this habit, regardless of their age. They can make themselves busy doing their favorite things either alone or in a group, as a result they can build social relations, or become more active physically. For example, if individual is having a goog knowledge of playing cricket, he/she will become a socially well and physically fit.
The second advantage of having a good hobby is, it can remove a stress which comes from a hectic schedule. Elder, younger and all generations would get a significant amount of benefit from one such good habit. When they are feeling bored or feeling tension, they can do something unusual or interesting, which can change their attention towards something creative. Therefore, it is a vital for our mental health.
Lastly, hobbies are advantageous for economical development. It could lead to a financial support for middle-class person. If we are champion on one subject, we can get a variety of employment options to strengthen our financials. Moreover, local talent could be beneficial for our government as well.
In conclusion, although some people might be not in a favor of having hobby, I believe that it is a great option for creativity, healthier life-style and financial stability.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you support the view that people of all ages benefit from having a hobby. You address the prompt with three relevant reasons—well-being, stress relief and possible financial benefits—and give an example involving cricket. This covers the task well, but the ideas are not equally developed. The health and stress points are explained in general terms, while the claim that hobbies can create employment or benefit the government needs a more specific explanation or example. The opening also promises several advantages without establishing a particularly precise line of argument. To strengthen the response, explain how each benefit applies to different age groups and develop at least one example in more detail, while maintaining your clear position throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a coherent overall structure: an introduction, three body paragraphs organised around separate benefits, and a conclusion that restates your opinion. Signposting such as “The first and foremost benefit,” “The second advantage” and “Lastly” makes the progression easy to follow. However, these transitions are somewhat mechanical, and some links between sentences are not fully clear. For example, the cricket example moves from knowledge of the game to being “socially well and physically fit” without explaining the connection. The phrase “Elder, younger and all generations” also makes the intended grouping difficult to follow. Use more natural transitions and clearer references, and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports. This would make the organisation feel more fluent and less formulaic.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “well-being,” “social relations,” “financial support” and “financial stability,” and the reader can generally understand your meaning. There are also attempts at less common or formal expressions, but several are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision. Examples include “inevitable role to build an inspire life,” “relive stress,” “a good knowledge of playing cricket,” and “strengthen our financials.” Spelling and word-form errors such as “atleast” and “economical development” also affect the overall control of vocabulary. Aim for natural collocations rather than more elaborate phrasing: for instance, say that hobbies “enrich people’s lives,” “relieve stress,” or “improve financial prospects.” This will make your ideas clearer and more idiomatic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “although,” “when” and “as a result,” so there is some structural variety. Most of the main ideas remain understandable, but errors in articles, agreement and sentence construction recur. For example, “if individual is having” needs an article and a more suitable verb form; “it can remove a stress” has an unnecessary article; and “it is a vital for our mental health” has an incorrect article pattern. The opening sentence, “Hobbies play an inevitable role to build an inspire life,” is also difficult to interpret grammatically. Review article use and subject–verb patterns, and simplify sentences when needed. More accurate control of these forms, alongside your attempts at complex sentences, would improve clarity.
