Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you agree that hobbies are important, and you give relevant reasons involving career development, stress relief and retired people’s wellbeing. The cricket example, including Kohli and Tendulkar, helps illustrate how an interest can become a profession. However, the ideas are only partly developed. The point about children’s skills is difficult to follow, and the sentence ending “to improve interest of re” is incomplete. The discussion of working people is more general than specific, while the point about older people needs a clearer explanation of how hobbies reduce isolation. Develop each reason with a complete explanation and a relevant example to address the task more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, three body paragraphs signalled by “To begin with,” “Moreover” and “Lastly,” and a conclusion. This gives the reader a basic route through your ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow because sentences are incomplete or ideas are joined unclearly. For example, the first body paragraph breaks off at “to improve interest of re,” and the transition from children’s hobbies to professional skills is not fully explained. Some linking phrases, such as “For instance,” introduce examples, but the examples are not always connected back to the main point. Use complete sentences, make each paragraph focus on one reason, and add clear links between claim, explanation and example.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “anxiety,” “stress,” “professionals,” “isolating conditions” and “activities.” These choices show an effort to discuss different benefits of hobbies. However, the range is limited and many spelling errors or inaccurate word choices make the message harder to understand, as in “morden,” “competative,” “hobyy,” “proffesion” and “interestet activitis.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “make whole carrier” and “reduce their stress” in this context. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations, for example, “develop skills,” “pursue a career” and “relieve stress.” More precise vocabulary would help express your ideas without requiring the reader to infer your meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “even if,” “because” and “when.” However, control of sentence structure is inconsistent, and errors frequently make parts of the response difficult to interpret. For example, “in many studies has proven that proffesionals feels calm” lacks a clear grammatical subject and has incorrect subject–verb agreement. The opening sentence also has an unclear structure, while “retired people who don't have as much interest to spent their last days” contains an incomplete construction and an incorrect verb form. Punctuation and sentence boundaries need attention too, particularly around the long opening and the conclusion. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses carefully.
