Student answer (Band 5.5)

Hobbies makes people perfect in life. It is essential to have at least one hobby for youngones, juveniles , working individuals as well as for the retired people. According to my persecpective, everyone should have at least one hobby as for selecting future goal and makes perfect in one activity. I will explain my points in the upcoming paragraphs.

To begin with the first point, hobby can help individuals to select the future goal. If people have their own hobby, they can easily choose whatever they want to become in their upcoming life. For example, some people have interest in cooking, they can pursue their career in cooking like become chef, upload cooking videos on social media and open cooking classes. As a result, hobby can help individuals to make their best career.

Secondly, hobby can keep individual away from bad habits. If people have interest in any activity, they prefer to do that in their free time. Due to this, they utilize their all time doing their hobby, they donot have enough time to involve in bad habits. For instance, if people have interest in painting, they can spent their spare time doing painting rather then to think regarding alchoic produts, online games. Hence, hobby can help to save the people life.

In conclusion, all generation people should have at least on hobby. Which cannot help only to decide better future as well as keep away people from bad habits.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you agree that everyone should have a hobby, and you give two relevant reasons—helping people choose a career and keeping them away from harmful habits. The cooking and painting examples make these points more concrete. However, the career argument is developed more fully than the second point, and claims such as hobbies using “all time” or saving people’s lives are broad and need clearer explanation. The conclusion repeats the main ideas but does not add much. The response also falls 9 words short of the required 250-word minimum. To strengthen the answer, explain each reason in more depth and add a specific example or qualification, while ensuring the response meets the required length.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted with “To begin with” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. This makes the main line of argument easy to follow. The examples are placed alongside the points they support, and phrases such as “As a result” and “Hence” show attempts to connect ideas. However, the linking can feel mechanical, and some connections are unclear—for example, “Due to this, they utilize their all time” does not clearly explain how a hobby prevents harmful behaviour. The final sentence beginning “Which” is also disconnected from the preceding sentence. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the relationship between each claim and its explanation explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “future goal,” “career,” “spare time,” and “bad habits.” There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “cooking classes” and “social media.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or unnatural choices make the writing less clear, including “Hobbies makes people perfect,” “youngones,” “persecpective,” and “alchoic produts.” Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “utilize their all time” and “save the people life.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully. For example, “develop their skills” is more appropriate than “makes perfect in one activity.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “If people have their own hobby, they can easily choose…” and a relative clause in “activity, which cannot help…”. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction occur throughout. Examples include “Hobbies makes,” “hobby can help,” “they can spent,” and “all generation people.” The final sentence is a fragment because “Which” introduces a dependent clause without a complete main clause. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and make sure each sentence has a complete grammatical structure. Shorter, accurately controlled sentences would help make your ideas clearer.
