Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is argued that teenagers, adults and mature people would have atleast one hobby in their life.I completly agrees with the statement because it develops confidence and opportunies in their life.

Today we are living in fast phase world, where many individuals spend their time in their jobs, feeling stressed and bored in their lives due to the lot of work done in their offices. If someone, has a hobby like singing, dancing and doing exercise etc can reduce their stress and anxiety after back from their workplace. For example , according to the WHO organisation a survey was conducted in which people who have hobbies are more confident, happy and productive in their lives and workplaces as compared to the pupils who do not have hobbies.

Moreover, this also helps in creating future and devolping particular hobby. There are many people who work on their hobbies can later develop their skills and become successful in their life.Nowadays, many individuals learn online bussiness share market skills, which later gives them a good wealth in their lives. For example Rock the wwe wresler , he is not very good student in this school tim,but he a hobby of wresling which he pursuied to continue in this life, today he is the one the greatest and well known personality in the wwe industry, also he has worked for hollywood films due to this attractive body,

in conclusion, hobbies play an important role in the persons life ,it creates confidence and opportunies in the pupils life and hepls in overall well being

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you agree that people of different ages should have a hobby, and you give relevant reasons about reducing stress and developing skills. The examples of workplace wellbeing and the wrestler’s career help illustrate these points. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the claim about online business and share-market skills is not clearly connected to hobbies, and the wrestler example is difficult to follow. The task asks about children, young adults, working people and retired people, but your response focuses mainly on adults and working life. The response is also six words below the required minimum. Develop each reason more clearly and address the different age groups to make the answer more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “in conclusion” make the main stages easy to identify, and the stress-related reason is followed by an example. However, progression within the second body paragraph is less clear: the move from hobbies to online business and then to the wrestler’s story feels abrupt, and the final example ends without a clear explanation of its relevance. Some references, such as “this” and “it,” do not always make their meaning precise. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports; this would make the overall arrangement more coherent and cohesion less mechanical.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “confidence,” “stress and anxiety,” “productive,” and “well being.” These choices help communicate your main ideas. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response harder to understand, such as “opportunies,” “devolping,” “bussiness,” and “pursuied.” Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, including “fast phase world,” “creating future,” and “good wealth.” Aim to use accurate, natural collocations rather than adding ambitious phrases whose meaning is uncertain. Proofreading spelling and choosing more precise expressions would make your ideas easier for the reader to follow.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure beginning “If someone has a hobby” and a relative clause in “people who work on their hobbies.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries occur frequently. For example, “I completly agrees” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “he a hobby” is missing a verb. The long sentence about the wrestler also lacks clear sentence boundaries, making its meaning difficult to follow. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea at a time, then add subordinate clauses. Check agreement, verb forms and punctuation carefully before submitting.
