Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays, having a hobby is considered an essential part of our life for all ages of people like kids, young people and retired individuals. I strongly agree with this viewpoint that everyone has atleast one hobby in their life as it develop new skills and old people remain active.
First of all, hobbies are very beneficial to enhance your new skills and develop personal interest. For example , if children have interest in reading books , play some musical instrument , then these all things are useful to learn new things from books and make future in musical line. Similarly, working people can develop skills by learning photography, cooking or learn any foriegn language. These type of activities are not only discover their talent, but also build confidence. Everyone are busy in their life with a lot of stress so these activities helps to relex as well as improve productivity at work.
Secondly, hobbies are really very important for retired people. When they retired from work, they usually feel alone at home and do nothing. So they believe that they no longer have meaningful purpose in life. Taking part in daily activities such as gardening, walking, traveling can help them remain active. For instance, many old people join walking group which not only helps to engage in social interaction, but also helps to stay fit and health in their life.
In conclusion, I believe that atleast one hobby is neccessary for everyone's life regardless of age. As well as reducing stress and develop new skills, hobbies improve socialization and healthy lifestyle .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction—“I strongly agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address the importance of hobbies for different age groups, giving relevant examples such as children reading or learning an instrument, workers developing photography or cooking skills, and retired people joining walking groups. These examples extend the main ideas and support your view. The discussion also explains several benefits, including learning, confidence, stress relief, social interaction and fitness. To strengthen the response further, develop the examples with more specific explanation rather than making broad claims such as hobbies improving “productivity at work.” A clearer link between each example and why having at least one hobby matters would make the support more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall progression: an introduction stating your view, two body paragraphs organised around benefits for different groups, and a concluding summary. Signposting such as “First of all,” “Similarly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the argument, and examples are generally placed alongside the points they support. The paragraphing is appropriate and the ideas move logically from skill development and stress relief to the needs of retired people. Some linking is a little mechanical, however, and the second body paragraph shifts from loneliness to activity and health without fully explaining the connections. Use more varied transitions and clearer references between sentences so the argument flows naturally rather than relying mainly on familiar sequencing phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to discuss hobbies and their benefits, including “personal interest,” “build confidence,” “social interaction,” and “remain active.” This gives the response some useful range, and the meaning is generally understandable. However, several noticeable word-choice, collocation and spelling problems reduce precision: “make future in musical line,” “these all things,” “relex,” “health in their life,” and “socialization” are awkward or inaccurate in context. There is also repetition of broad terms such as “activities” and “important.” Aim for more natural combinations and check spelling carefully; for example, explain that an instrument can support musical development, and describe older people as maintaining their health and social connections. More precise phrasing would make your ideas clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “if children have interest…” and a relative clause in “walking group which not only helps…”. This shows an effort to connect ideas and vary sentence forms. However, errors occur often enough to make some sentences awkward: “as it develop” has a subject–verb agreement problem, “Everyone are busy” uses incorrect agreement, and “these activities helps” also has a mismatch. Verb forms and sentence construction are sometimes faulty, as in “When they retired from work” and “As well as reducing stress and develop new skills.” Review agreement, consistent verb forms, and parallel structures. More accurate control of these patterns would make the argument easier to read.
