Student answer (Band 6.0)
Having a hobby in the life plays a crucial role. From early childhood to retired people having at least one hobby is important. I completely agree with the statement taht having a hobby for every age group is important.
To begin with, hobbies are foundational to personal development.Engaging into activities like sports, drawing and many more from early chilhood plays a important role as when they start engaging into it they will know which feild they want to choose in the future. They will know about their motive as what they want to do.For example, In school life if the students know about their hobbies then they will start engaging in that field and persue it.
Similarly, the hobbies play same important role in working people and retired people life. In this technological era everyone do jobs for earning money and help their family members. The peolpe that are working from whole day do not get time to do what they want as they can dedicate some time to do some cooking or running which will help them to keep their mind fresh and healthy. Moreover, when poeple get retired from their job they may be feel lonelu as everyone doing their own chors and they feel empty. Having a hobby of doing any volunteer work or may be gardenning keeps their minds fresh and they will not feel lonely.
To conclude, hobbies plays a very crucial role in everyone's life as for children they will know what they want to do in future and for other people it will help them to keep their minds fresh.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you “completely agree” that hobbies matter for every age group, and the response addresses children, working adults and retired people. The examples—children discovering a future interest, workers cooking or running to refresh themselves, and retirees volunteering or gardening to avoid loneliness—are relevant and show the beginnings of a well-supported argument. The discussion of working and retired people is more fully explained than the point about children, which mainly links hobbies to career choice. To strengthen the response, develop that childhood point beyond future work, and explain more precisely how each example supports your view. The clear stance and relevant coverage are strong, but ideas are not yet consistently extended in depth.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs organised around different age groups, and a conclusion that restates your position. Connectors such as “To begin with,” “Similarly,” “Moreover” and “To conclude” help signal the progression. However, some links feel mechanical, and the second body paragraph moves from workers to retirees without a clear transition between the two groups. Several sentences also contain repeated or unclear references, such as “they” in the discussion of students, making it less certain who is being discussed. Use more precise references and build clearer links between each main idea and its example. The organisation is coherent overall, though cohesion is not consistently smooth.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “personal development,” “volunteer work,” “retired” and “lonely,” and these choices help communicate your main points. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors reduce precision: “engaging into activities,” “do jobs for earning money,” “feel lonelu” and “gardenning” are examples. Some phrases are also vague or repetitive, such as “keeps their minds fresh” and “what they want to do.” Aim for more natural combinations and accurate spelling, and choose specific terms to explain the benefits of hobbies. The meaning is generally recoverable, but the noticeable inaccuracies and limited flexibility keep the vocabulary from being consistently clear and precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a reason clause in “as they can dedicate some time” and a conditional-style explanation of how hobbies may influence children’s choices. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur across the response. For example, “hobbies plays” has subject–verb disagreement, “everyone do jobs” uses an incorrect verb form, and “they may be feel” combines incompatible verb patterns. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “plays a important role” and “personal development.Engaging.” These errors sometimes make sentences harder to follow, although your overall meaning remains understandable. Practise accurate agreement and verb patterns, and check punctuation and sentence boundaries when editing.
