Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argued that it is very crucial for everyone has a hobby in their life. I strongly agree with this viewpoint because hobbies not only improve physical and mental well-being but also encourage personal development.

To begin with, if a someone has a hobby then they can spend their free time to do that because it will assist them to grow in their life by showing it to other on social media. For example, there are many people who are using some platforms where they can show their talent by posting the specific posts on and after few time, some people start to show interest regarding that creativity and they love to buy those things for themself to decorate their home such as paintings, sketches, handmade pieces and drawings. As a results, individual gets some money by selling their stuffs just because of their hobbies.

Additionally, pursuing hobbies can significantly enhance people's well- being overall healthy because some folks have those hobbies which are related to ground or outdoor activities and they are playing games with others and via that they will able to spend time with family members or others like social interaction. For instance, doing relaxing activities or team games which help to unwind our body and get always updated by social interaction. Outdoor activities assist to be healthy and enjoy the nature and have a fresh breathing as well as reduce the stress from different problems. Therefore, hobbies are very essential to reduce the stress and promote a healthier lifestyle.

In conclusion, I firmly believe that everyone can has a hobbies which will help them to be healthy in their life and it does not matter about age or unemployment if they have a good hobby they they can start earing by that at any stage of life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you strongly agree that people of all ages should have a hobby, and you give relevant reasons involving well-being, personal development and earning money. The examples of selling paintings or handmade items and taking part in outdoor or team activities help connect your ideas to the topic. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The first body paragraph focuses heavily on posting work on social media and making sales, rather than explaining more broadly how hobbies support personal development. The second paragraph also makes several claims about health and social interaction without developing a specific example. To strengthen the response, explain each main benefit more fully and make the connection to children, working adults and retired people explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Additionally,” and “In conclusion” make the main stages easy to follow, and the ideas generally remain relevant within each paragraph. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “by showing it to other on social media” does not clearly explain how a hobby leads to personal development, and the sentence beginning “For instance” in the second paragraph is difficult to connect to the preceding claim. The conclusion repeats the main position but introduces earning money again without a clear link to the earlier argument. Use clearer references and build each paragraph around one benefit, developed in a logical sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “personal development,” “social interaction,” “reduce the stress,” and “healthier lifestyle,” which helps communicate your main ideas. There are also attempts to use more specific terms, such as “paintings,” “sketches,” and “team games.” However, vocabulary range and control are limited, and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural or make the meaning less clear. Examples include “show their talent by posting the specific posts,” “fresh breathing,” and “updated by social interaction.” There are also word-form and spelling problems, such as “themself,” “stuffs,” and “earing.” Aim to learn natural word partnerships and check spelling and word forms; this will make your ideas clearer and more precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional and reason clauses, as in “if a someone has a hobby then…” and “because hobbies not only improve… but also encourage…”. This shows an effort to vary sentence structure. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction can make the reader pause. For example, “it is very crucial for everyone has a hobby” needs a different verb pattern, while “everyone can has a hobbies” has errors in modal verb use and agreement. The sentence beginning “For instance, doing relaxing activities…” is also incomplete. Practise accurate clause patterns and check each sentence for a clear subject and finite verb before adding further detail.
