Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction (“everyone should have at least one hobby”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address the groups named in the prompt, with relevant examples such as children drawing, young adults playing outdoor games, working people exercising or meditating, and retired people avoiding loneliness. The discussion also gives several reasons, including stress relief, creativity, fitness and learning. This is a solid response to all parts of the task, with ideas generally extended through examples. To strengthen it further, develop some claims more specifically: for instance, explain how a hobby builds confidence or leadership, rather than simply listing these benefits. The point about working professionals is also less clearly connected to a particular hobby, so a concrete example would make the support more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs with distinct benefits, and a concluding summary. The progression from mental well-being to skills and benefits at different life stages is easy to follow. You use a range of linking expressions, including “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Besides,” and “Therefore,” and the examples generally sit in relevant places. However, some transitions feel mechanical or overly formal, such as “Probing ahead” and “Last but not the least,” while repeated “Therefore” and “As a result” make connections predictable. A few sentences also contain several ideas joined together, which weakens the flow. Use simpler, more natural transitions and make the relationship between each example and its main point explicit to achieve smoother cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “reduce stress and anxiety,” “critical thinking,” “physical fitness,” and “leadership qualities.” There are also attempts at less common or formal expressions, such as “multifarious reasons” and “reiterate,” showing ambition. However, some choices are inaccurate or unnatural: “feel relax,” “listening music,” “release their stress,” and “supplying that everyone has” do not express the intended meaning idiomatically. Spelling and word-form slips such as “strees” and “well being” also reduce precision. Prefer clear, natural collocations over ornate wording, and check spelling and word forms carefully. This would make your vocabulary more flexible and precise while preserving the relevant range already present.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “because,” “while,” and “which,” and the overall meaning is usually clear. Some sentences are controlled, such as “Children improve their creativity by doing drawing, while young adults play outdoor games…” However, errors occur in agreement and verb forms: “It also help,” “reading books boost,” and “it improve their mood” need subject–verb agreement. There are also faulty constructions, including “everyone has at least one hobby” in the conclusion’s surrounding sentence and “help to reduced stress.” Articles, punctuation and sentence boundaries are inconsistent, with several unnecessary spaces before punctuation and missing commas. Focus on accurate basic sentence patterns first, then proofread each sentence for agreement and verb form.
