Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is crucial for everyone irrespective of their profession or age to have atleast one hobby which can help them to revire their brain and keep them busy. I totally agree to this statement as peronally I also have many hobbies which I enjoy doing in my leisure time.
Anyone who continues to do same work throughout the week gets bored and hence the productivity also decreses. This is the time when hobbies play a vital role to reset all the stress and worries which is carried out by doing same tasks again and again. To illustrate, two of my friends Aman and Sahil work together in a same company and in a same shift. On one hand, Aman head towards the gym after his work and also go for bike ride during the weekends. He also takes part in various cultural activities which require a certain physical fitness and by doing this, he indirectly accomplish his hobby with these activities. On the other hand, Sahil is workoholic and is never late to the office. He not only works hard but also has 100% of his attendance but has no hobby.
Last year, Aman got promoted to a bigger role but Sahil was still working in the same position despite of working so hard. By participating in different activities, Aman became physically and mentally fit which resulted in more focus and attention at work and Sahil worked hard to achieve the goals but eventually failed.
To conclude, every individual should have atleast one hobby which will help them personally as well as professionally to succeed and achieve more in their life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the opening: you agree that everyone should have a hobby, and the conclusion restates this view. You give a relevant reason—that hobbies can relieve stress and support focus—and illustrate it through the contrast between Aman and Sahil. This example helps explain your argument, particularly the link between Aman’s activities and his promotion. However, the discussion is weighted toward working adults; the task names children, young adults and retired people too, and their needs are not explored. The claim that Sahil’s lack of a hobby caused him to miss promotion is also asserted rather than convincingly demonstrated. Developing a second reason or showing more carefully how hobbies benefit different age groups would make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your opinion, the body develops the argument through an example, and the conclusion returns to your position. The contrast between Aman and Sahil gives the central example a logical shape, and phrases such as “To illustrate” and “To conclude” help signal stages in the response. Some connections, however, feel mechanical or unclear. “This is the time when” does not precisely link the general point about boredom to the role of hobbies, while “On one hand” and “On the other hand” are used to compare people rather than present two sides of an argument. The final paragraph also introduces no further development. Use clearer cause-and-effect links and connect each example explicitly to the claim it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main argument, including relevant terms such as “productivity,” “stress,” “physically and mentally fit,” and “focus and attention.” There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, for example “play a vital role” and “cultural activities.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “revire,” “decrese,” “workoholic,” and “peronally,” and some combinations are unnatural, such as “reset all the stress and worries” and “accomplish his hobby with these activities.” These slips do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall message, but they reduce precision and naturalness. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations, such as “relieve stress,” “pursue a hobby,” and “take part in activities.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “a hobby which can help them” and a contrastive structure in the comparison of Aman and Sahil. Most ideas remain understandable, and the longer sentences show an effort to connect reasons and results. Some grammatical errors persist, particularly with articles, agreement, and verb forms. For example, “Anyone who continues to do same work” needs an article, and “Aman head towards the gym” does not maintain the correct verb form. In “the stress and worries which is carried out,” the verb does not agree with its subject, and the clause is awkwardly constructed. Review articles, subject–verb agreement, and consistent tense use; breaking a few long sentences into clearer units would also improve control.
