Student answer (Band 5.5)
The best action is the one that has the sweetest fruit as an outcome. Having and pursuing a hobby refresh your mind and provides you with the focus in your life. Hobby might change as you grow or for some inividual it remains same.
There could be multiple hobbies, as the most exemplary hobby is reading books. As we have a busy schedule through out the day but at night if we could take out moment for pursuing your hobby of reading your imaginations could be enhanced and you will clear your mind from the chaotic day as you sleep.
Playing games either outdoor or indoor is also another kind of hobby an individual could have, making time for yout play time would relax your mind and ultimately you will be ready for another busy day more than ever.
In children the growth of there iq and health is the major concern for there parents having atleast one hobby and being consistent in pursuing it could shape the brain development in a positive way. And for the young adults there focus is on studies, making time for there hobby would increase discipline. As for the working people there is always pressure of work going in the mind always, and the get the best out of them they need to perform under pressure, there hobby would get them out of there pressure and provide them with sense of relaxation in order to get prepared for the tough work life. The retired people often becomes sick by not having any activity, they should always try to be consistent on there childhood hobby.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you support people of all ages having a hobby, and you give relevant reasons, including relaxation, discipline and health. The discussion of children, young adults, workers and retired people directly addresses the groups named in the prompt. The examples of reading and playing games also help illustrate your view. However, some points are asserted rather than explained: for instance, the link between a hobby and children’s “brain development” or young adults’ discipline would benefit from a specific example or clearer reasoning. The retired people’s paragraph is especially brief, and the opening statement about “the sweetest fruit” does not clearly establish your opinion. Develop these ideas more evenly and state your position directly at the outset.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, paragraphs about particular hobbies, and a final paragraph considering different age groups. This gives the reader a general sense of progression. However, the organisation is not consistently clear because the discussion shifts from examples of hobbies to age groups without a strong transition, and the final paragraph contains several separate points in one long block. Some linking is also repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “and” and “as.” Pronouns such as “your” and “them” sometimes make it unclear whose experience is being discussed. Use clearer topic sentences, separate the age groups into a more deliberate sequence, and connect each example explicitly to your central opinion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “pursuing a hobby,” “discipline,” “relaxation” and “pressure,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural, such as “take out moment,” “clear your mind from” and “get the best out of them.” Repetition of “hobby,” “mind” and “pressure” also limits precision. There are noticeable spelling errors, including “inividual,” “there” where “their” is intended, and “atleast.” Aim to use more precise expressions and check spelling carefully; for example, describe how hobbies “provide a break from work-related stress” rather than saying they “get them out of there pressure.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “if we could take out moment … your imaginations could be enhanced.” The main ideas remain understandable, but errors in sentence construction and agreement occur across the response. For example, “Having and pursuing a hobby refresh your mind and provides” has a mismatch between the subject and verbs, while “the retired people often becomes sick” also has incorrect agreement. Some sentences are difficult to follow because clauses are joined without clear punctuation, especially the long sentence beginning “In children the growth…” and continuing through the working people. Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses with accurate agreement and punctuation.
