Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that hobbies are important for people at different stages of life. You address children, students and working adults, and the examples of chess and your friend playing cricket help make the discussion relevant. The explanation that hobbies can support mental and physical well-being also responds to the task. However, the retired are not discussed, and some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that hobbies can become a career is not developed with an example or explanation. To strengthen the response, cover every group named in the prompt and extend each main reason with a clear explanation or specific supporting example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, paragraphs discussing hobbies for different groups, and a conclusion that restates your opinion. The progression from children and students to working people is generally understandable, and phrases such as “From my point of view” and “On the other hand” signal relationships between ideas. However, “On the other hand” does not introduce a contrasting view, so it is not an accurate link here. Some sentences contain several ideas joined together, making the progression harder to follow, and references such as “they” can be unclear. Use shorter, more clearly separated sentences, and choose linking expressions that accurately show whether an idea adds a reason, gives an example, or contrasts with another point.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “creative,” “stress,” “crucial role,” and “physically and mentally fit,” and the reader can generally understand your main message. However, the range is basic and several word-choice, collocation and spelling problems make the writing less clear or natural. Examples include “hactic work life schedule,” “make the carrier,” “fedup,” and “frustance”; “hobby play important role” also shows difficulty using natural topic-related phrasing. Repetition of “hobby,” “people,” and “life” limits variety. Build a bank of accurate phrases such as “relieve stress,” “pursue a hobby,” and “develop a skill,” and check spelling and word forms carefully before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including explanations with “because” and examples introduced by “such as.” This allows you to communicate a clear overall opinion, but some errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, articles and punctuation remain. For example, “It keep people motivate” needs correct subject–verb agreement and verb forms, while “hobby play a very crucial role” needs a plural or singular subject–verb match. Several sentences run together, as in the opening, where full stops and capital letters are needed to separate ideas. Practise building accurate sentences first, then combine them with conjunctions. Pay particular attention to verb agreement and sentence boundaries.
