Student answer (Band 6.0)
Hobbies are important for every age group. Now a days, people might have no time to explore thier hobbies. However, I think everyone must have hobbies. If not a lot then at least one. It help us to stay active.
First of all, hobby is the friend that does not depends you on others to get entertained. It is something you are fascinate about, thing that you love and enjoy doing in your free time. All you need to invest time in finding what exactly is your hobby. It can be anything, like for example: Drawing, Sketching, Singing, Playing Chess, Sewing Clothes, Gardening, etc.
Secondly, hobbies can be converted into career and just imagine, you are getting paid for things what you love to do. I have friends who are enjoying their work because they chose their hobby as their career. Some days ago, one of my friend was telling me his story. He said he was searching for job in call centers but no organisation was selecting him. Then he read a Japanise book called "IKIGAI" that says to follow your hobby and make it your career and now he's freelancing as a graphic designer as his hobby is in making designs. Moreover, he is not only liking his job but also due to his detailed attention in his job, he is getting high payments from the happy clients.
So in conclusion, Irrespective of age, everyone must have at least one hobby that can make an individual feel proud and happy. In the end, I would say that hobbies are important and it will be with you even in your old age when you might not have anyone to share your time with.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the opening: you believe everyone should have at least one hobby, regardless of age. You give relevant reasons, including that hobbies provide independent enjoyment and may develop into a career, and the graphic-designer example helps illustrate the second point. The conclusion also returns to the question and mentions benefits in later life. However, the discussion focuses mainly on working-age people and career choice; the benefits for children, young adults and retired people are not explored separately. The claim that a hobby can make someone feel proud and happy is also asserted rather than explained. Develop these less-supported points with specific benefits or examples to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “First of all” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. The ideas progress from personal enjoyment to career opportunities, and the example is placed where it supports the second reason. This gives the reader a coherent line of argument. Some linking is mechanical, however, and the first body paragraph moves quickly from defining a hobby to listing activities without explaining how the list supports the argument. The long anecdote also contains several stages that could be separated or connected more smoothly. Use transitions that show relationships between ideas, and make references such as “it” and “this” more precise where needed.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range to discuss the topic, including “explore their hobbies,” “converted into career,” “freelancing as a graphic designer,” and “detailed attention.” The examples of activities also give the response some topic-specific vocabulary. There are, however, several inaccurate or unnatural choices that limit precision, such as “the friend that does not depends you on others,” “fascinate about,” and “high payments.” Spelling errors such as “thier” and “Japanise” also detract from control. Aim for natural collocations and accurate word forms—for example, describe a hobby as something a person is “passionate about,” and say that clients pay “well” or offer “high fees.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional phrasing (“If not a lot then at least one”) and a longer sentence explaining your friend’s career change. The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction. For example, “It help us” should be “It helps us,” and “does not depends you on others” needs a different structure, such as “does not depend on others.” In “one of my friend was telling me,” the noun should be plural. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly in “Irrespective” after the introductory phrase. Check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
