Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You express a general view that hobbies or exercise are important for people of different ages, and you give relevant examples such as playing sports and reading general-knowledge books. However, the response does not consistently address the task’s broader meaning of “hobby”: it focuses mainly on exercise and health, with little explanation of why hobbies matter to young adults, working people, or retired people specifically. Your position is suggested by “Hobby is vital,” but the reasons are repetitive and often unclear, such as the claim that people “have no creates health issues.” To strengthen the response, state your opinion clearly and develop two distinct reasons, explaining how different hobbies can benefit people at different life stages.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has an opening, several body paragraphs, and a concluding paragraph, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Finally” show an attempt to organise ideas. However, the progression is difficult to follow because points about exercise, work, digestion, reading, and students are introduced without clear links or development. Some connections are confusing, for example, “On other hand students do exercise their mind will be fresh,” and “They managed time for exercise” follows a point about reading. Repeated references to exercise also make the argument feel circular. Group related ideas into paragraphs, use clear topic sentences, and ensure each example directly supports the paragraph’s main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use basic vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “physical health,” “routine,” “free time,” and “obstacle,” and examples such as “playing hockey, cricket” help make the subject clear. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “exercise,” “hobby,” and “daily.” Some choices or combinations are inaccurate and make meaning unclear, such as “They are care to their physical health,” “They have no creates health issues,” and “surrounding living people.” Aim to use more precise vocabulary for different kinds of hobbies and their benefits, and learn natural word partnerships. For example, distinguish “take up a hobby” from “exercise regularly,” rather than treating them as interchangeable.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

Most sentences use simple structures, and the reader can understand the general topic, but frequent errors in sentence formation and agreement sometimes obscure the intended meaning. Examples include “Children, young adults, workers and retired person also have hobby,” “They are care to their physical health,” and “They have face different obstacle in their life.” There are also incomplete or poorly connected clauses, as in “Because when they spend much time on duty so, they feel tired,” and inconsistent punctuation and capitalisation, including “On other hand, They.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles and plural forms, and build longer sentences with one clear main clause and correctly joined supporting information.
