Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you agree that hobbies benefit people of all ages, and you give relevant reasons about stress, productivity, boredom and mental health. The examples of adults going to the gym and schools offering activities help connect your ideas to real situations. However, the support is brief, and the discussion of children and retired people is less fully explained than the point about workers. The school example also does not clearly show how hobbies benefit retired people. The response is 23 words below the required minimum, so there is limited space to develop the reasons and examples. Explain how each age group benefits and add a more specific example to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a concluding summary. This makes the main line of argument easy to follow. Some connections, however, are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Although” does not correctly introduce the contrast intended in “Although, if kids build a habit…,” and the shift from retired people to the example about US schools is abrupt. The conclusion repeats the main points but does not add a final implication. To improve progression, make each paragraph focus on a distinct reason or age group, use linking words according to their meaning, and connect each example directly to the claim it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “profession,” “stress,” “work pressure,” “academic” and “mental health.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “overall performance.” However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which occasionally makes the meaning less clear. Examples include “follow at least a hobbies,” “reduce the laziness,” and “healthy brain.” Spelling errors such as “bordm,” “childern” and “comapre” are noticeable and weaken the accuracy of the vocabulary. Build a bank of natural phrases for discussing leisure and wellbeing, and proofread spelling and word forms. More precise vocabulary would help express the benefits without repeating general terms such as “overall.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional idea in “if they do not follow any good habits…” and a relative clause in “activities to their student for improving…”. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, plurals and sentence construction occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to read. For example, “All age groups must follow at least a hobbies” has an incorrect article and plural, while “individual are busy… which are bringing” has agreement problems. The sentence beginning “Although, if kids…” is also incomplete in its construction. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and complete conditional sentences, then check articles and singular/plural forms. Clearer sentence control will make your ideas easier to understand.
