Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays it has been believed that everyone should pursue one hobby according to their age in order to stay active/healthy. I am in unison with this opinion. This essay will describe reasons for this trend.
Having hobby can keep an individual either physically fit or mentally strong or it could offer both at the same time. Many sports activities such as badminton, soccer, cricket etc demand a lot of physical hard work. Therefore an individual get some exercises while pursuing their hobbies. In addition, it requires some attention in order to fulfill the goals. The individual stay alert and active all the time. This can help them to develop strong personality in the society. Moreover, when people go outside, they interact with different personalities which can improve thier communication skills along with the social network.
These days different kinds of activies are available according to the age group. There is no deny that it totally depends on the individual's interest. However, people feel more comfortable with the same age In as it matches their energy level. In community centers near the residential area, activities such as swimming, Yoga, Pilaties, painting and many more facilities are made available by the government. People should take advantage of it and they can grow better. In addition, for introverted people or disabled people can also pursue their while staying at home. In recent years, online coaching session are also available such as cooking/backing classes or weiving/sewing classes are made available.
All in all, it can be commented that hobbies can provide an individual a lot of health benefits along with their daily tasks. In my opinion, everyone should pursue at least one hobby in thier different age groups.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that people of all ages should have a hobby, and you give relevant reasons, including physical and mental wellbeing, social interaction, and activities suited to different circumstances. The examples of sports, community-centre classes, and online lessons help address the topic. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that hobbies help people “develop strong personality” is not clearly connected to the preceding point about staying alert, and the discussion of age groups does not give specific examples of how hobbies might differ across them. Develop fewer points with clearer explanations or a brief personal example to make the support more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs with distinct areas of discussion, and a concluding statement that restates your view. Linking expressions such as “In addition,” “Moreover,” and “All in all” help readers follow the progression, and the ideas generally remain relevant to each paragraph. To make the organisation more fluent, avoid relying on a repeated sequence of additive transitions and clarify links between ideas. For example, the move from hobbies improving communication to developing a “strong personality” needs an explicit explanation. The sentence beginning “In addition, for introverted people…” also disrupts the flow because its construction is incomplete. More precise referencing and smoother connections would strengthen cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic-related vocabulary, including “physically fit,” “mentally strong,” “communication skills,” “community centers,” and “introverted.” These choices make your main ideas understandable, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, several word-choice and collocation problems reduce naturalness, such as “I am in unison with this opinion,” “pursue their while staying at home,” and “grow better.” Spelling errors, including “thier,” “activies,” “Pilaties,” and “weiving,” also affect accuracy. Aim for familiar, precise collocations rather than translated-sounding phrases, and proofread spelling carefully. This would make your vocabulary more flexible and appropriate to the essay’s formal style.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including sentences beginning with “Therefore,” “However,” and “In addition,” and most of your meaning remains clear. Some grammatical errors persist, particularly with articles, agreement, and sentence construction. For example, “Having hobby” needs an article, “an individual get some exercises” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “The individual stay alert” has the same issue. The sentence “In addition, for introverted people or disabled people can also pursue their…” is structurally incomplete, while “online coaching session are” has a number-agreement problem. Review these patterns and check each sentence for a complete subject and verb. Greater accuracy across these structures would improve control.
