Student answer (Band 6.0)

Having hobby is an assential for everyone to find time for themselves enjoy what they want to do from their busy life. In my opinion, hobby will shape a distinctive perspective to anyone's career hence everyone should have at least one hobby.

Hobby develops a new way of looking at your work. The work could be study for students, daily chores for household person and office work for working professional. While you are working the on repetative tasks on a daily basis, you will feel traped in the cycle and you start feeling disappointed with your life. Having a hobby will keep you entertain and that makes you break your routine cycle hence your interest on your daily work would increase as your are not repeating it.

Many people felt retired person would have a hardtime however if they keep engaing themselves in any hobby they can divert their griff into some charris moments. Like they plays any musical instrument or sing a song which will help them to enjoy their remaining lifespan.

Let's take an example, I have a hobby to watch movies and I am a software developer. Many time I felt, why I am developing software one aftter another, but after I watch the sci-fi movies my perspective changed drastically. The sci-fi movie facinates me how world will changes in future, in addition it inspire me, how important my role would in that transition. That keeps me believe that I am not doing worthlesss job, I have a responsibility to shape the future.

In a conclusion, hobby will help you to look your life enjoyable way and keep you motivates you to do better what you are doing.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you believe everyone should have a hobby because it can improve their outlook on work and life. You give relevant reasons and examples, including the effect of hobbies on repetitive routines, retired people, and your own experience as a software developer who watches science-fiction films. The personal example is particularly useful because it explains how the hobby changes your perspective. However, the discussion of retired people is brief and the claim about hobbies improving daily work is not fully explained; the task’s different groups are therefore not explored equally. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation of how the hobby benefits that group, and make the link between your examples and your opinion more explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction states your view, body paragraphs present reasons and examples, and a conclusion restates the main idea. The progression from general benefits to retired people and then to your personal experience is understandable. You also use linking expressions such as “While,” “however,” and “in addition” to connect ideas. To make the organisation more fluent, avoid relying on “hence” repeatedly and ensure that each paragraph develops one central point. Some references are unclear, such as “that makes you break your routine cycle,” where “that” could refer to the hobby or the entertainment it provides. More precise referencing and smoother links between sentences would strengthen the progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “distinctive perspective,” “repetitive tasks,” “routine cycle,” and “responsibility to shape the future.” These choices help communicate your ideas, and the science-fiction example gives you scope to discuss work and future change. However, several spelling errors and inaccurate word choices make the language less controlled, including “assential,” “traped,” “griff,” and “facinates.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “keep you entertain” and “remaining lifespan.” Aim for accurate spelling and natural collocations, and choose words that express your intended meaning precisely. Proofreading and learning useful word partnerships would make your vocabulary more effective.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional and time clauses such as “While you are working…” and “if they keep…” This gives the response some structural variety, and your main meaning is generally understandable. However, errors in articles, agreement, verb forms, and sentence construction remain, as in “Having hobby,” “they plays,” and “it inspire me.” The final sentence, “keep you motivates you,” also contains an unclear verb pattern. Work on article use and subject–verb agreement, and check that each sentence has a clear grammatical structure. Breaking some long sentences into shorter units would help you control accuracy while retaining your attempts at complex forms.
