Student answer (Band 6.0)
In todays world of developing social media people of all ages are busy earning more money to quench their needs and surfing the internet to interact with other people, have no time for themselves, but in my opinion having some hobby is equally important for our mind as exercise is for our body.
Firstly, devolping a leisure activity gives time to your brain to breath. In the hustle and bustle of daily life it is important to spare some time for what you would love to do,like children like to play their favourite game in the park, adults would get together for a board game and elderly like to water their favourite plants. For instance,my father gifted a stamp book to me on my birthday, after which i developed the hobby of collecting stamps, moreover it added to my knowledge of how different countries stamps look like.
- Secondly, devolping a hobby sheds light on different aspects of your personality. For example, you might be having a dream to become crickter but your parents pushed you to study engineering. So,in your free time you can play cricket as a hobby to fullfill your desire and give a breather to your mind.Reseaches show that people living with a hobby have less psychological issues than the ones without it.
Finally,i want to conclude by saying that a healthy body has healthy mind, which is possible by carrying out activities one loves to do on a regular basis.Irrespective of the age groupc,we should spare some time for ourselves.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you believe hobbies are important for people of all ages, and you give relevant reasons about relaxation and personal fulfilment. The examples of children playing, adults meeting for board games, older people gardening, and your stamp collection help connect the argument to the task. However, the discussion of how hobbies reveal personality is less fully explained, and the claim about research and psychological issues is not supported with detail. The conclusion restates your view but could draw together the reasons more specifically. The response is also below the required 250 words, so it needs a little more development. Expand one key example or explain more clearly how hobbies benefit different age groups to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction states your opinion, the body paragraphs present two reasons, and the final paragraph concludes. Sequencing signals such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Finally” make the progression easy to follow, and examples generally appear beside the points they support. This meets the lower-band expectation for clear overall organisation and shows some of the stronger progression associated with the next level. To improve further, make links between sentences less dependent on formulaic transitions and clarify references. For example, “it added to my knowledge” refers to stamp collecting, but the connection could be expressed more directly. Avoid the stray dash before the second body paragraph and use consistent paragraph formatting.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range for the topic, including phrases such as “hustle and bustle,” “spare some time,” “psychological issues,” and “a breather to your mind.” These attempts to use less common expressions add variety, although some are inaccurate or unnatural: “developing social media” does not clearly express the intended idea, and “shed light on different aspects of your personality” is not quite the right collocation here. There are also spelling errors, including “devolping,” “crickter,” “fullfill,” and “Reseaches.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, but careful proofreading and more precise collocations would strengthen your vocabulary control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “after which” and “than,” and your meaning is generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly in sentence boundaries and punctuation. The opening sentence joins several ideas with commas, creating a run-on structure; divide it into shorter sentences or use clearer linking. In “a healthy body has healthy mind,” the article before “healthy mind” is missing, while “people living with a hobby have less psychological issues” has a number-agreement problem between “less” and the plural noun. Capitalisation of “I” is also inconsistent. More accurate sentence boundaries and proofreading would improve control while preserving your range.
