Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is a common belief that it is important for people to have atleast one hobby regardless of their age or professional circumstances. I strongly agree with this view because recreational activities not only support physical health but also the mental health.
To begin with, recreational activities play a vital role in maintaining physical fitness and keeping individuals active. After spending long hours in office in front of computer individuals bodies get physically inactive and susceptible to obesity due to lack of exercise. Thus, engaging in physical activities such as swimming, cycling, or playing outdoor sports helps maintain a healthy weight and improve their fitness levels while reducing the risk of diseases associated with obesity including high blood pressure and type 2 diabeties. Consequently, having at least one hobby that can be puruaded daily in leisure time is benefitial for all the people.
Secondly, having an hobby is also helpful maintaing mental health. Nowadays, more and more people are depressed due to multiple reasons in their lives, thus participating in recreational activities helps them divert their mind from those problmes and relieves stress. Having an hobby is important so that people can spend some time doing their favourite leisure time task. Apart from that, when people go out and play games it makes their social circle borader and more socially active.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly agree that everyone should have a hobby, and you give relevant reasons involving physical and mental health. The examples of swimming, cycling and outdoor sports help explain the physical-health point. However, the mental-health argument is less developed: you mention stress relief and a wider social circle but do not explain these effects with a specific example. The response also focuses mainly on working adults and does not show as clearly why hobbies matter to children, young adults and retired people. The required minimum of 250 words is not met; at 221 words, the response is 29 words short. Develop the ideas further and address the different age groups more explicitly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction states your view, followed by separate paragraphs on physical and mental health. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Thus,” and “Secondly” make the progression easy to follow, and the main points are generally connected to the central opinion. This meets the lower-band expectation of clear overall organisation and shows some features of stronger progression. However, the linking is somewhat mechanical, with several transitions announcing the next point rather than showing the precise relationship between ideas. In the second body paragraph, the move from stress relief to social activity could be explained more smoothly. Use clearer references and develop each paragraph’s reasoning in a more connected sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “physical fitness,” “susceptible to obesity,” “relieves stress,” and “social circle.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and some less common expressions show an attempt to be precise. However, several spelling and word-choice errors reduce accuracy, such as “diabeties,” “puruaded,” “benefitial,” “problmes,” and “borader.” There are also awkward collocations, including “leisure time task” and “divert their mind from those problems.” These do not prevent understanding, but they make parts of the response less natural. Check spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships; choosing simpler, accurate phrasing is preferable to using an uncertain expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a cause-and-effect structure in “After spending long hours in office … individuals bodies get physically inactive” and a sentence explaining how activities can improve fitness while reducing disease risk. The overall meaning remains clear, and the response shows some ability to connect clauses. Some grammatical errors remain, however: “an hobby” should be “a hobby,” “individuals bodies” needs a possessive form, and “helpful maintaing” requires “helpful for maintaining.” Articles and sentence punctuation also need attention, particularly in “in office in front of computer.” Review these patterns and proofread for agreement, articles and complete grammatical constructions to make your varied sentences more consistently accurate.
