Student answer (Band 5.0)

In recent years, the hobby has become a subject of considerable debate. Some people believe that essential skills play crucial role in our life. However, I completely agree with this viewpoint because it leads productivity and excellent career growth.

To begin with, one of the main reasons why I support this idea is that beneficial for productivity. This is mainly because hobby can develop skills that enhance output of results. For example, a person who have a habit to work with speed, so this hobby increase speed of service in food sector. As a result, extraodinary person would be promoted by employer. In addition, hobby can reduce stress at workplace such as passionate teacher can teach students with more innovative way because they can understand smoothly.

Another important reason is that can be impactful for yor career. In other words, uniq personality and hobby opens several job benefits and opportunities for young people. For example, in cricket you have a hobby to lead your teammates with support and motivation while facing harsh condition that quality makes you for future captain of your team. Moreover, people can start their own business if you have a perticular hobby, such as cooking which can be helped you to start your own restraurant.

In my opinion, we should choose our field or work which would be connected to our hobby, habit as well as skill. However, it is depend on qulification of degree and educational background.

In conclusion, I firmly believe that hobby can improve our worklife and future specially for students and young generation. Therefore, we should develop skill as a hobby.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

Your position is clear in the opening and conclusion: you agree that hobbies are valuable, particularly for productivity and career prospects. You also give relevant examples, including leadership through cricket and cooking as a route to starting a restaurant. However, the response only partially addresses the broad claim that having at least one hobby matters for people at every life stage. Most of the discussion focuses on workplace performance and young people, while children and retired people receive little attention. Some claims are also under-explained—for instance, the link between working quickly as a hobby and promotion is not made convincing. Develop the benefits for different age groups and explain each example more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, a concluding opinion and signposting such as “To begin with,” “In addition” and “In conclusion.” This helps readers identify the main points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because examples and explanations do not connect clearly. The sentence about a person who works quickly, for example, moves from a hobby to service speed and then promotion without showing the steps between them. Some linking phrases, including “In other words” and “Moreover,” introduce ideas that are not clearly related to the preceding point. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the relationship between each claim, explanation and example explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “productivity,” “innovative,” “opportunities” and “educational background,” and you attempt to express ideas about work, stress and career development. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning unclear. Phrases such as “leads productivity,” “habit to work with speed” and “impactful for yor career” do not sound natural in this context. There are also spelling errors, including “extraodinary,” “perticular” and “restraurant.” Aim to learn vocabulary in complete, natural phrases and check spelling carefully. More precise language would help distinguish personal enjoyment from skills gained through a hobby.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, using clauses introduced by “because,” “which” and “if.” This gives you a basis for expressing reasons and examples. However, errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to understand. For example, “one of the main reasons … is that beneficial for productivity” is missing a subject, while “a person who have” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. Other problems include “this hobby increase,” “hobby opens,” and “it is depend,” as well as missing or incorrect articles and verb forms. Practise building accurate basic sentences first, then extend them with subordinate clauses. Check that every sentence has a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
