Student answer (Band 5.5)
I mostly agree with the claim that it is important for children, young people, working people and the retired to have at least one hobby. Hobbies can be very beneficial to all individuals regardless of age. However, they may also pose more negative than positive effects for some people.
Firstly, I personally beleive that children and young adults have more hobbies than others. This are their starting days of career because of that they can choose their perfect career for future. One major benefit of having at least one hobby is establishing a positive environment. Since individuals have stress from school and work, it is an important apporoch that they to participate in meaningful activities. These activities can distract them from a stressful atmoshphere and put them in pleasing activities. For example, Painting, Danceing and Singing also listening to music it will chance their mind set. As a result, they will improve creativity and bring positivity in future.
Secondly, their are many other advantages is having peace of mind. If children play sports or outdoor activities, this will promote positive environment. Moreover, working full-time employee should also do some relaxble activities to reduce their stress. For example, while driving to home or work, they can simply listen to songs which help refresh their mind. On the other hand, older people can go for a walk which can help them to fit and they meet their old friends in park, they can also do some activities with them such as, laughing, yoga and meditation.
In conclution, it is importan for everyone to having at least one hobby because of that they can reduce their stress and enjoy life peacefully with their family and friends.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear in the introduction and conclusion: you mostly agree that everyone should have a hobby, mainly because hobbies reduce stress and support wellbeing. You address several age groups and give relevant examples, such as children doing creative activities, employees listening to music, and older people walking or socialising. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The claim that children and young adults have more hobbies, and that hobbies help them choose a career, is not explained or supported clearly. You also mention that hobbies may have “more negative than positive effects” in the introduction but do not explain this point later. Develop the reasons more fully and keep the argument consistent.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument, and the examples generally relate to the topic. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow. For instance, the first body paragraph moves from career choice to stress relief and then to creativity without clearly connecting these ideas. The second paragraph also shifts quickly between children, employees and older people, while some references such as “this” and “they” are not fully clear. Use topic sentences to establish each paragraph’s main point, then group examples logically and explain how each supports your opinion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “stress,” “meaningful activities,” “creativity,” and “peace of mind,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make the writing less natural. Examples include “positive environment” where you appear to mean a positive effect or atmosphere, “relaxble activities,” and “fit” for staying physically fit. There are also noticeable spelling errors such as “beleive,” “apporoch,” and “conclution.” Aim to learn common word partnerships and check spelling carefully; more precise vocabulary would help express the benefits of hobbies without repeating general terms such as “positive” and “activities.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including clauses beginning with “Since” and “which,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in agreement and sentence construction appear in examples such as “This are their starting days” and “their are many other advantages is having peace of mind.” Some sentences combine several ideas without a clear grammatical structure, as in the sentence about older people walking, meeting friends and doing activities. Verb forms and patterns also need attention: “it is important for everyone to having” should use a different verb form, and “activities … it will chance their mind set” does not form a clear, accurate sentence. Practise building complete sentences with one main clause and check agreement, verb patterns and punctuation.
