Student answer (Band 6.5)
I strongly agree with this statement having at least one hobby for all ages, children, youngsters, working individuals, and older citizens is important . The main reason not only provide enjoyment but also improve mental health, develop useful skills and help people maintain a balanced lifestyle.
First and formost, hobby plays an crucial role in children's development. If they have an interset in particular field then they can develop their carrier in same field such as drawing, paintaing, and singing. For example, when they do participate in school sports that time they develop their skills in gain confidence, learn team-work, how express their felling and ideas in front of others and disciplain in early age. These skills can also help them in their future education and careers.
Furthermore, hobbies are equally beneficial for young adults and working people. Nowadays, many people have busy schedules because of their studies and jobs. As a result, they often experience stress and mental pressure. Having a hobby, such as listening to music, cooking or going to the gym, can help them relax and refresh their minds. For instance, a person who works long hours may feel less stressed after spending some time playing a sport or going for a walk.
Finally, having hobby for retired people is benefical to spend their leisure time at this age, such as gardening, walking, and join club activities which is help to maintain their social life in community where they caan invest time and make strong realtions with others. Therefore, hobby can make their retirement time more enjoyfull and memorable for life time.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that everyone should have at least one hobby, regardless of their age or lifestyle. It improves physical and mental well-being, develops personal skills and makes life more enjoyable.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the opening—“I strongly agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address the groups named in the prompt by discussing children, young adults and working people, and retired people. The reasons are relevant: hobbies can support development, relieve stress and maintain social connections. Examples such as school sports, cooking and gardening help illustrate these points. This meets the task well, although some claims are broad or only briefly explained. For example, the link between a child’s hobby and a future career is asserted rather than explored, and the benefits for retired people could be supported with a more specific example. Develop each group’s point with a little more explanation of how the hobby produces the stated benefit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall progression: an introduction, three body paragraphs organised by age or life stage, and a conclusion that restates your view. Sequencing phrases such as “First,” “Furthermore,” and “Finally” make the structure easy to follow, while examples generally appear beside the points they support. The conclusion also brings together the main benefits. To make the organisation more polished, ensure each paragraph develops one central idea without awkward transitions within sentences. For instance, the children’s paragraph moves from career development to sports and then to several skills; a clearer link between these examples would strengthen progression. Some linking phrases are predictable, but they still guide the reader effectively.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “mental pressure,” “balanced lifestyle,” “team-work,” “social life” and “physical and mental well-being.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and the examples of hobbies are varied. However, inaccurate spelling and word choice are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “formost,” “interset,” “carrier,” “benefical,” and “enjoyfull” are examples. Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “develop their skills in gain confidence” and “invest time” for spending leisure time. Aim to learn common word partnerships and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise phrasing would make your ideas clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex structures, including conditional phrasing (“If they have an interest…”) and cause-and-effect sentences (“As a result, they often experience stress”). The overall meaning is usually understandable, but errors in sentence construction, articles, agreement and verb patterns are frequent enough to affect fluency. For example, the opening sentence lacks a clear grammatical connection between the opinion and the list of age groups; “a hobby plays” needs an article, and “which is help” has an incorrect verb form. There are also problems with sentence boundaries and punctuation, including spaces before full stops. Practise building complete sentences and checking subject–verb agreement, articles and verb forms before adding more complex clauses.
