Student answer (Band 6.0)
Leisure activities are important in people's lives. Some people believe that people should have at least one hobby. I strongly agree with this viewpoint because a hobby can be a stress buster activity and helpful for someone to turn their hobby in a career. I will elaborate on reasons along with the examples in the following paragraphs.
The main reason why individuals should have at least one favourite activity is that it can reduce stress. Many workers usually follow same routine such as doing jobs and managing their household responsibilities. Their brains get tired. To give a break to their brain they need to divert their mind by doing such activities. For example, many people spend their free time in an artistic way such as writing, reading, listening music and cooking etc, rejuvenating them to go back to their work energetically .As a result, this not only helps them for their mental well-being but also increases their concentration at work.
From my perspective, if scholars or pupils have a hobby, they can build a career from their hobby. For instance, some students do not like academic psrt, they are more into sports such as football and ice hocky. Intially, they consider these sports for spending their free time. However, as they are grown and with the advanced trainings they develop their carrers in such fields. Consequently, they become famous and start earning form their hobby.
In conclusion, focusing on hobbies can be beneficial for individuals because these activites decrease the stress and are helpful for building a strong future. Therefore, i strongly agree that everyone should have atleast one hobby in their life to enjoy their extra time.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction to the conclusion: you strongly support everyone having a hobby. You give two relevant reasons—hobbies can reduce stress and may develop into careers—and illustrate them with examples involving creative activities and students pursuing sports. This addresses the task, but the two points are not developed equally. The stress argument explains how leisure can help people return to work with better concentration, while the career point moves quickly from enjoying sport to becoming famous and earning money, without explaining how realistic progression or training works. The response also focuses mainly on workers and students rather than showing how hobbies benefit children, young adults, and retired people more broadly. Develop the examples and connect them more directly to the full range of people in the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your view. The progression from stress relief to career opportunities is easy to follow, and phrases such as “For example,” “However,” and “Consequently” help signal relationships between ideas. This organisation is effective, though some linking is mechanical or unclear. For instance, “I will elaborate on reasons along with the examples in the following paragraphs” announces the structure rather than advancing the argument, and “From my perspective” does not clearly signal the shift to your second reason. Some sentences also run together around punctuation, which weakens the flow. Use transitions that express the precise relationship between ideas and check sentence boundaries to make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary to discuss leisure, stress, work, and future careers. Expressions such as “reduce stress,” “mental well-being,” “concentration,” and “build a career” communicate the main ideas, and you attempt less common wording such as “rejuvenating.” However, some choices are unnatural or imprecise: “stress buster activity,” “divert their mind,” and “develop their careers in such fields” do not sound fully idiomatic in context. There are also spelling errors, including “psrt,” “ice hocky,” “Intially,” “carrers,” and “activites.” These do not prevent understanding, but they limit the accuracy of your vocabulary. Aim for natural collocations and proofread spelling, especially in key examples.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause (“because a hobby can…”) and a conditional structure (“if scholars or pupils have a hobby, they can…”). Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors appear in sentence construction, articles, and punctuation. For example, “Many workers usually follow same routine” needs an article before “same routine,” while “listening music” is missing a preposition. In “as they are grown and with the advanced trainings,” the clause is not formed correctly, and the sentence beginning “For example” runs into the next sentence without appropriate spacing or punctuation. The final “i” should also be capitalised. Review articles, prepositions, clause structure, and sentence boundaries to make your varied structures more consistently accurate.
