Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Mitali,
I hope you are doing well. I am happy to hear that you want to know about my experience because I am already studying at the university where you are going to plan for the study abroad.
I studied in the one of the private colleges of physiotherapy for my bachelor's degree in London. Also, it is one of the best university because their teaching staff was excellent, knowledgeable and their teaching methods were quite advanced and more practical rather than putting emphasis on theoretical concepts. Therefore, I was able to get in-depth knowledge regarding plenty of physiotherapy subjects, discovered new diseases and various exercises to overcome the pain of patients. So, I was able to get good grades in the final exams of the university.
I studied in the UK, and the local people were helpful, kind-hearted and respectful. Also, this country is developed, hence, I was able to get all sorts of facilities like public transport, best hospitals, educational academies and accommodation, good neighbourhoods, which raise our standard of living and make our life more convenient and enjoyable. That year helped me a lot for my personal development, because living away from my family taught me about how to take responsibilities, fulfil our needs without any support of relatives and earn money to get financial support for our family. As well as, spending one year in abroad played a pivotal role in developing communication, cooperation, time-management, money management, and decision-making skills. As a result, it is responsible for my personal growth and fostered me towards the bright career.
I hope my suggestions will be helpful to you. Please let me know if you need other help. I look forward to your positive decision in this matter. Best regards,
Twinkle

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The letter covers all three bullet points effectively. You clearly identify where you studied (London), describe the country (UK, highlighting the kindness of people and infrastructure), and explain the benefits for your studies (practical knowledge and personal development). The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend's sister. However, the response is slightly repetitive in its focus on personal growth rather than academic benefits, and the opening sentence is a bit confusing regarding your current status versus your past experience. Overall, the task requirements are fully addressed with relevant, well-developed ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized with clear paragraphing. You use a range of cohesive devices such as 'Therefore', 'Also', 'As a result', and 'Hence' to connect ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive, particularly the frequent use of 'Also' at the start of sentences. The progression of ideas is generally smooth, though the link between the academic experience and the personal development section could be more seamless. Overall, the structure is clear and easy to follow, meeting the requirements for a coherent response.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a good range of vocabulary, including terms like 'in-depth knowledge', 'pivotal role', and 'fostered'. There are some minor collocation issues, such as 'fostered me towards the bright career' (which is slightly unnatural) and 'fulfil our needs without any support of relatives'. While you use some less common items, there are occasional inaccuracies in word choice. However, these do not impede communication, and the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your message clearly and with some precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'in the one of the private colleges' (extra 'the'), 'it is one of the best university' (should be plural 'universities'), and 'without any support of relatives' (should be 'from'). Additionally, 'As well as, spending one year in abroad' is grammatically incorrect; 'in abroad' should simply be 'abroad'. While these errors are noticeable, they do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning. A greater focus on subject-verb agreement and preposition usage would improve your score.
