Hi Jessica,

I hope you are doing well. I would like to share my experience in studying abroad. I have done Project management program in Canada. During my course, i learned about different techniques to manage the project. I have attended many social events during my course which helps me to make friends from different program.

It was wonderful experience to learn about new culture, meeting new people all around the world. It was good opportunity to socialize with people from different countries. I have visited famous monuments and learn about history of that place. Canada is beautiful country and have many scenic attraction where i used to go for relaxation. I had an experience of my first snowfall and learn about protect myself during extreme cold weather.

I believe studying in abroad is excellent platform you may face several problems but also give an opportunity to build your self confidence. It will help you to be competitive in all stage of life.

Kind regards,

Vaibhav

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points of the prompt: you mentioned studying in Canada, described what you learned about the country, and explained the benefits for your studies. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention learning 'different techniques to manage the project,' you could have provided more specific examples of how this helped your academic progress. The tone is appropriate for a friendly letter, and the purpose is clear throughout. To reach a higher band, ensure that your explanations are more detailed and fully expanded rather than listing points briefly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your experience. You use basic cohesive devices like 'During my course' and 'It was,' which provide a clear structure. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes a bit mechanical, and the use of linking words is limited. Some transitions feel abrupt, such as the jump between discussing social events and the general experience of the culture. To improve, try using a wider variety of cohesive devices (e.g., 'furthermore,' 'consequently,' 'in addition to this') to create a smoother progression of ideas between your paragraphs.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your experiences clearly. You use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'Project management program' and 'scenic attraction.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'have many scenic attraction' (should be 'attractions') and 'studying in abroad' (should be 'studying abroad'). The range of vocabulary is somewhat repetitive, relying on simple descriptors. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more precise adjectives and varied collocations to describe your experiences, such as 'breathtaking landscapes' instead of 'scenic attraction.'

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the history of that place'), verb tenses ('I have done' instead of 'I did'), and subject-verb agreement ('Canada... have many'). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and capitalization issues, such as the lowercase 'i' used throughout the text. These errors do not significantly impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic tense consistency and article usage will help improve your accuracy.
