Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully addressed all three bullet points required in the task instructions. You clearly stated where you studied by mentioning 'Trent University in Canda', described what you learned about the country regarding the environment and daily life, and explained how the year abroad helped your studies and personal growth through time management and confidence. The tone is informal and appropriate for a letter to a friend's sister, maintaining a friendly and encouraging approach throughout the response. All parts of the prompt are covered well, and ideas are adequately supported with personal examples, aligning well with the Band 6 or 7 descriptors for Task Achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter follows a clear logical organization with an appropriate opening greeting ('Dear meet,') and a polite closing. Paragraphing is utilized to separate different themes, such as university facilities, lifestyle learning, and personal benefits. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty, as seen in repetitive sentence starters like 'Moreover' and 'I learned'. Referencing and transitions between sentences occasionally feel abrupt, such as the sudden shift from university amenities to studying data analytics. Overall arrangement remains coherent, but paragraph transitions could be smoother to reach a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common phrases like 'time management' and 'self confidence'. However, there are notable spelling errors ('queires', 'oppurtunity', 'qaulity', 'beatiful', 'enviroment', 'class room', 'anaylist', 'ypu', 'maintained', 'relation') and word-choice inaccuracies ('study year' instead of 'academic year'). While these errors do not impede communication since your meaning remains clear, the frequency of spelling mistakes prevents you from achieving a higher band score in this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, successfully linking clauses with conjunctions and relative pronouns. There are, however, several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as missing articles ('in masters'), preposition errors ('in any condition'), and awkward phrasing ('managed my work and my study both at a time'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, though capitalization is inconsistent ('Canda'). These errors occur regularly but rarely impede overall communication, placing your grammar performance solidly at the Band 6 level.
