Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Aisha,
Hope you doing well. I came to know that you want to pursue your one year master in management from IBU University in Canada. I want to tell you about my experience there as I also studied in the same University. The campus of the University is huge. There are number of amenities inside the campus. You can also find a place to live inside the Campus as they also provide hostel facility.
Canada is a country of dreams. This place taught me how you can work on yourself and fullfill all the things that you once dreamed in your life. Moreover ,it taught me the value of time. Once you started respecting time, you will never be left behind.
IBU is a management University and has a good contact with number of big companies in America. I was able to get a well paid internship direclty from the university. Additionally after the internship I got a well placed placement as well. I hope you will also learn a lot of things during your stay there.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have successfully addressed all three bullet points required in the task instructions. You clearly stated where you studied by mentioning IBU University in Canada, described what you learned about the country by highlighting how it taught you the value of time and self-development, and explained how the year abroad helped your studies and career prospects by securing a well-paid internship. The tone is appropriate for a semi-formal letter to a friend's sister, and the response covers all parts of the prompt well. However, some ideas, particularly regarding what you learned about the country, are slightly generalized and could have been extended with a bit more specific detail to reach the highest band levels. Overall, the task requirements are fully met.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter follows a clear logical organization with an appropriate opening and closing. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate the introduction, the description of the country, and the academic/career benefits. However, cohesion at the sentence level is sometimes mechanical or repetitive, such as starting multiple sentences with 'I' or using basic transitions like 'Moreover' with inconsistent punctuation spacing (e.g., 'Moreover ,it'). Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between some ideas could be smoother and more flexible. Despite these minor issues, the letter maintains a coherent overall arrangement throughout.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for a general task, using terms such as 'amenities', 'hostel facility', and 'internship'. There are, however, some noticeable word choice and spelling errors, such as 'fullfill' instead of 'fulfill', 'direclty' instead of 'directly', and the awkward phrase 'well placed placement'. While you attempt some less common vocabulary items, these minor inaccuracies and spelling slips prevent the lexical score from reaching a higher band. Nevertheless, the vocabulary used is sufficient to communicate your message clearly to the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
Your writing displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'Once you started respecting time, you will never be left behind.' However, there is a lack of tense consistency in that particular sentence ('started' versus 'will never be'). Additionally, there are other grammatical slips, including the missing auxiliary verb in the opening sentence ('Hope you doing well' instead of 'Hope you are doing well') and missing articles ('with number of big companies'). While these errors are present, they are non-systematic and do not impede overall communication, allowing the reader to easily follow your meaning.
